Meet Edgar and Mayra in Sumpango Center. Diego (5) and Nataly (3) shiver in a small tin-and-drywall bedroom. Plastic covers the walls. Cold wind enters everywhere.
Edgar grows corn and works as a day laborer. Mayra cares for the children. Their dream? A home that protects their babies.

"We want a nice home for our children. It's so cold," Mayra said.

April 2025, that dream comes true. Thanks to you, Edgar and Mayra receive their first proper cinder-block home. Warmth. Safety. A place where little ones can thrive.

Meet Alan and Juana in El Rejón. A young couple with Jacob (2) and baby Sebastian (11 months). They lived in a tiny cinder-block room with Alan's parents. No space. No privacy.

Alan works as a day laborer. Juana cares for the boys. They had only a dream.

"We wanted a better house for our children and to start our own home," Alan said.

Meet Fermin and Selena in El Rejón, Sumpango. Fermin works as a mason helper in Guatemala City, returning only on weekends. Selena cares for Dilan (9) and baby Sury (1.5).

Their home? A bedroom with cinder block and tin. A tiny kitchen. Rain leaks through the walls every season.

"Our children are growing up. We want a nice home for them," Selena said.

Meet Inocenta in El Rejón, Sumpango. A single mother working as a day laborer. Her daughter Evelyn (16) studies to be a counter, works during breaks, and has a scholarship.

They lived with Inocenta's brother in his room. Grateful. But needing their own space.

Inocenta's parents gave her land. A seed of hope.

Meet Mynor and Clemencia in Rancho Alegre. They made a choice: prioritize their daughter's education. Debora (18) graduated as a teacher in 2024. Mynor earns $10/day.

They lived in one small room, parents and son together. Debora in a tiny tin space. Sacrifice. Love. Hope.

"We invested in our daughter's future," Clemencia said. "Now we want a nice bedroom for our children."

Meet Ismael and Ruth in Sumpango Center. A large blended family with six children working or studying. They lived in four cramped rooms—wood, half-adobe, dirt floors. No privacy. No comfort.

Working hard. Never enough.

"We don't have money to build a cinder-block home," Ruth said.
