Waynoka FFA Members Attend 2024 Oklahoma FFA Alumni Leadership Camp

By Rhiata Bouziden

Members of the Waynoka FFA recently attended the 2024 Oklahoma FFA Alumni Leadership Camp. This annual camp, known for its focus on leadership development, was broken into six different sessions to accommodate FFA members from across the state.
Attending the first session from Waynoka were Jake Inman, Dakota Davidson, and Stetson Nix. Later, during the sixth session, Rholton Bouziden, Rhiata Bouziden, Rylan Nix, and Chanan Wyatt represented Waynoka FFA.
The theme for the 2024 camp was “Impact,” emphasizing the importance of making a positive difference. The camp kicked off with an inspiring message from the guest speaker, Mr. YOGOWYPI. His acronym, standing for "You Only Get Out What You Put In," resonated deeply with the attendees, encouraging them to work diligently and set goals.
Another highlight was a special session with guest speaker Melvin Adams from the Harlem Globetrotters, who delivered a powerful message on leadership that left a lasting impression on the campers.
When not listening to guest speakers, the FFA members spent a large portion of their time participating in small group activities with peers from different parts of the state. These sessions were designed to teach valuable leadership skills and promote self-reflection. On the first day, the focus was on “Building the Foundation of a Team,” which emphasized the importance of teamwork and goal setting. The second day's sessions centered on “Finding the Rhythm” and included more team-building exercises.
The Waynoka FFA members returned from the Alumni Camp with a positive outlook and a wealth of leadership skills they are eager to share with other FFA members and their community.

Waynoka 4-H and FFA host successful Livestock Judging Camp

By Rhiata Bouziden

On June 19, 11 members of the Waynoka 4-H and FFA gathered at the Waynoka Ag Barn for an intensive livestock judging camp. The event aimed to equip participants with knowledge and skills in livestock judging, including sheep, pigs and cattle.
The camp featured sessions led by Tayen Redgate, a former Waynoka FFA member and current member of the Redlands Livestock Judging Team. Redgate emphasized the importance of presenting livestock reasons effectively and maintaining thorough and efficient notes.
Additionally, guest speaker Payton Nix introduced novice members to the process of completing class placings using scantron papers. Nix also covered essential livestock terminology that would be crucial for contest questions and reasons.
The day was not only educational but also enjoyable for the members. They were treated to a delicious lunch provided by the Waynoka 4-H and FFA Booster Club, and cookies baked by Connie Redgate, added a sweet touch to the productive day.
The participants left the camp excited and well-prepared for upcoming livestock judging contests. They expressed gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the 2024 Waynoka Livestock Judging Camp.
