What a day! LaVeda truly wow’ed us with her exhibition piece celebrating all of the many hats a woman wears throughout her life. It will be part of group exhibit that the Mountain Art Quilters are putting together called ‘Journey’. Wendy is contemplating how to quilt her beauty, primarily made up of fabric purchased at the Shady Lady Boutique. Susan Trahan displayed her marvelous baby quilt that will surely be loved for a lifetime. The goose is most definitely loose with Pam’s delightful floral flying geese quilted mat for her beloved Featherweight. Skuda brought in her completed crow/pumpkin piece. A friend is in the process of naming the baby crows peeking out from their hiding spot in the pumpkin birdhouse! So far it is Edgar and Poe or Onyx and Midnight. We love them both! 🎃🐦‍⬛

So much inspiration at Shadies workshop today! Ann M.’s fabulous modern floral/bird quilt on delightfully textured linen-like background, Slye’s gorgeous finish of a long-forgotten UFO, Ann B’s absolutely delightful cats and dogs quilt, Beth’s first block of her luscious green quilt and Skuda’s back at it with more improv stars. Pam shared stories and showed fabric from her recent trip to the Nordic Region, where her daughter-in-law Lotta Jansdotter is a gifted artist and fabric designer. Pam participated in her fabric surface design workshop, where she did some fabulous work. We were awed by the results!
