Mr. Wilson followed and adopted his motto, "It's my job to Serve," while serving as a young Non-Commissioned Officer in the military. He is married to His wife, Janice Wilson, an Army Veteran and community servant. They

have two children, Sean II and Anihya, who attend College in Springfield. They are all proud to call Waynesville their home.

We are excited to share this project with citizens and visitors alike. We still have a lot of work to accomplish and look forward in continuing to capture our history, sharing stories of our community and the business owners. This is the first but it will not be the last.

Waynesville's story belongs to all of us โ€” and now there's a place to read it.
We're proud to share the very first edition of the Waynesville Centennial Newspaper, a digital publication that will grow with our community year after year. This first issue features Voices of Waynesville, a look at some of the Route 66 businesses that helped shape our town. They're a starting point, not the full story โ€” we'll be interviewing businesses across our community throughout the year and adding new editions to this page as they come out.

The park will be busy this summer. The question is: will you join us?

We have a lot planned, including a 4th of July fireworks show and concert. This event is sponsored by the Waynesville-St. Robert Chamber of Commerce and many local businesses.

On June 21st, the City of Waynesville will host the Great Race on the downtown square. We invite everyone to come out and join the community and welcome travelers and these vintage cars that will travel Route 66 during this centennial celebration. The video gave you a glimpse of what to expect. Let's meet on the square and leave a lasting impression on these travelers. I encourage local businesses to think of ways to connect with this event; there are certainly great opportunities here. If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out because we can certainly use your assistance with parking for the vintage cars. The event will begin around 11:55 AM on June 21st.

The 2025 Hemmings Great Race presented by Coker Tire is in the books but we still have a LOT of great content in the works and we'll be posting more details ...
