This week’s story: Batman & Batgirl 🦇
Batman and Batgirl didn't actually come to us together.
Batman was found with his two siblings living inside an old sofa at a TNR site. All three came into rescue, his siblings were eventually adopted, and Batman was left waiting for his turn.
Batgirl came from a very different TNR site, and she had a much harder start. She came in with two siblings, but sadly, neither of them survived. Batgirl did, but she was understandably scared of pretty much everything.
She needed another kitten. Batman happened to need one, too.
So we introduced them, hoping that his confidence might help her come out of her shell a little. It worked. Batman is friendly, outgoing and brave, and Batgirl has slowly started learning from him that people aren't quite as scary as she thought. When she's unsure about something, she watches what Batman does first. If he's okay, maybe it's okay.
And somehow the two completely unrelated kittens we paired together also ended up looking like they were specifically designed for the job. Both have their own little superhero masks, so obviously there was only one possible outcome here.
Batman got his Batgirl, and Batgirl got her Batman. 🦇
She's still the more timid one and will need someone willing to give her a little time to feel safe. But that's the nice thing about adopting these two together—she doesn't have to figure out her new world by herself.
Her emotional support Batman comes with her. 😂
They're currently looking for a home together, matching masks and all. Our little dynamic duo has already handled the origin-story part. Now they just need somewhere to call their Batcave. 💜
