WE MADE IT!!

We delivered about 125 bags today to OSUCCC-James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute! Aka The James Cancer Center at Ohio State.

It brought us SO much joy to take those bags to them and we know they will be distributed quickly.

This would not be possible without all of you!

We filled 300 Gary’s Gift bags back in August and are getting ready to start distribution now that pumpkin season is over.

Thank you all so much for your continued support. Emotionally, financially, physically, spiritually, etc.

Your kindness, love and giving spirits in honor of Dad are incredible.

Hi Friends!

Its been a while. We’ve been busy “doing life”. Working, volunteering, trying to spend as much time with family and friends, and just trying to appreciate these seasons of life while we can.

We are in the process of ordering and collecting items to make 300 Gary’s Gift bags! 😮 We are so thankful for all the donations we have received over the last year and we are so excited to be able to make another (HUGE) contribution of bags.

I’ll keep you posted once all supplies have been purchased and delivered.

There are some new people here. If you found our page through being the recipient of a bag or know someone who received one, can you let me know in the comments? Or if you’d like to private message me that would be wonderful as well.

And lastly, if you know someone who could use a bag but isn’t local to the Cincinnati/Dayton area, please let us know. We have shipped bags to people and are happy to do so for others. We have a bag that went north of Columbus and another bag that is in Georgia.

The further outreach we can provide, the better!

Thank you all so much for being here with us on this journey for Gary’s Gift.

Most people associate colorectal cancer as a concern for those 50 or older. With roughly 90% of cases occurring in people older than 50, it makes sense.

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness month. Did you know they changed the suggested screening age from 50 to 45? If you are 45+ and haven’t had a screening, schedule one now! It could save your life!

Take a short quiz to get screening options based on your individual risk factors.

It’s been quite the week for Dad and his girls. We’ve had some major life changes and professional successes down here. Mom moved on Tuesday and is now officially a resident of Waynesville! Christine is the chief nursing officer of a new facility in Cincinnati that just passed their state inspection TODAY and will finally be able to begin operations. It’s been stressful but Dad has been busy showing up in ways we never imagined.

Back in August I applied for an award given out by Cub Cadet every year called the Unlocking Possible award. This award is given to independent dealers who have shown exemplary contributions to their community through donated time and projects. The winners receive up to a $2,500 donation to their organization of choice.

I’m happy to announce that the Gary’s Gift Project won 2nd place out of 100+ dealers in the US and we will receive a donation to our project from Cub Cadet. What once started as a goal to make 100 chemo bags has turned into so much more and it makes our hearts so happy! 💙

Also on Tuesday, I received a phone call from the Catch-A-Dream Foundation that the money donated in memory of Dad provided a young man from Alabama an elk hunt of a lifetime in New Mexico. He killed this amazing bull during his trip. I can picture the grin on Dads face as he probably watched it unfold.

Although our hearts long for Dad to be here in person and share in these successes, we know he is with us in all of life’s journey from here on out.

Gary’s Gifts will be back in full swing after the holidays and we hope to get the 501(c)3 paperwork underway soon.

Thank you all for being apart of this journey and for your contributions thus far. 🦋

Hi Friends. Our friends Cousin needs our help…URGENTLY! C**t was recently dignosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic cancer and just began chemo on October 25th. Due to the advanced stage and seriousness of his diseases, he can not work for the foreseeable future. If possible, please consider donating to his family. He and his wife have 6 children together and we all know the holidays add even more financial stress on our daily lives. 💙 Thank you so much in advance. Prayers for his entire family.
