The Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro is part of the Nicodemus Center for Ceramic Studies (NCCS), which also operates a studio on the Penn State Mont Alto campus. NCCS conduscts these active ceramic arts studio programs while also preserving, collecting, exhibiting, and interpreting historic folk pottery. The historic pottery collection is available to view at Renfrew Museum and Park.

It may not officially be summer, but if the kids are out of school and the weather is getting warmer... then it feels enough like it!

If you're looking for family-friendly classes, classes for kids, or a one-time class for you and/or your friends, we have a LOT of classes currently listed on our website. It's the perfect way to make a project you can gift or keep forever, and you get a great memory to go with it.

The past couple of years, we've seen a boom in guild membership, and while there is 24/7 access to the studio, some days are just busier than others.

This past weekend was no exception! If you visit us during our store hours (Fridays, 2-6pm and Saturdays, 10a-2p), chances are you'll get to see potters creating. We're pleased to be growing, we're constantly inspired by all the creativity within our walls, and we're always glad to talk with visitors who stop in.

This Sunday, May 17 from 1pm until clay runs out (or 5pm, whichever comes first), our guild member, Jenny, will be at the Buttonwood Nature Center Youth Festival with her wheel offering kids the opportunity to try the wheel with air dry clay.

What does that mean? It's completely free of charge and kids will be able to take the pots they make home the same day! See more info about the festival on the festival poster (picture 2).

Create a single serve berry mug just in time for berry season 🍓🫐

In this beginner-friendly hand building class, Jaden will guide you in making and decorating your personal sized berry mug.

No experience needed. We will handle the various drying and firing stages for the piece and will notify you when it is ready to be picked up.

This class is for adults ages 18 and older.

Date: Friday, May 22, 2026, 6:00pm-8:30pm

Cost: $50 per person, all materials and firings included
