Jones Lake - Waynesboro, GA

Jones Lake - Waynesboro, GA We are a non-profit organization responsible for maintaining Jones Lake in Waynesboro, GA.

Spraying on the lake will start tomorrow, Thursday August 14. We are primarily spraying for the water hyacinth since it is so horribly invasive.

If you have a sprinkler system drawing water from the lake, please turn it off for a while. I can't imagine why anyone would be watering their lawn during this soaking wet summer, but just letting you know.

The lake has recovered pretty well from the unintentional draining two weeks ago. My blink camera caught this video of an Anhinga catching a nice big fish.

Work started today cleaning up weeds in the lake. Tim and Jonah will be here most or all of the week. Enjoy this video of the wicked harvesting machine in action.

The work is expensive, so please consider donating to the Community Betterment Council. You can drop off donations at the Lake View Restaurant, and enjoy a good meal while you're there.
