Charlene Walton, M.D., is inspiring and educating the next generation of health care professionals. In her role leading the American Heart Association Scholars Program, she is a mentor to students from a variety of backgrounds, helping them build pathways to biomedical and health careers.

A Howard and University of Iowa alumna, Dr. Walton is an anesthesiologist, medical writer, and award-winning leader committed to building a future of longer, healthier lives for all.

As we recognize , we honor the leadership, care, and impact rooted in the Black community. By supporting access to CPR education and heart health information reflecting real experiences, together we help ensure everyone, everywhere has the opportunity for a longer, healthier life.

Heart Health Awareness Month.
❤️Heart Disease represents the most significant cause of death in Women in America.
We are moving in so many arenas where we often don’t slow down to tune in and listen to the signals our bodies are sending; we MUST SLOW DOWN!
As we have for nearly a decade throughout this month, The WCOW maintains its commitment to advance the importance of regular checkups via various mediums.
