My fellow Legionnaire's
Sir Winston Churchill remarks during World War II trying to uplift the spirits of his fellow citizens.
I will repeat a few which I hope will help during these trying times:
#1 If You're Going Through Hell, keep going.
#2 you've got enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime during your life.
#3 all great things are simple and many can be expressed with a single word:
Freedom; Duty; honor; Justice; Mercy; hope.
There is light at the end of the tunnel, we as veterans have all survived tremendous difficulties through our lives and came out the other side stronger men and women.
We as veterans should be able to calm the worries of the young people who are in panic mode because they have seldom witnessed the world in such disorder.
Reach into your past and remember what we witnessed in the 1940s, 1950s, the 1960s, and the 1970s. Each decade brought more and more uncertainties to us the children of the time.
Please remember your faith and remember you are never alone, God is always with you.
Closing remarks / our American Legion posts.
Please make sure you contact our fellow veterans and assure them that we are here to help in any way we can during this pandemic crisis.
Hopefully our Legion Post will be reopened in the not-too-distant future and our American Legion meetings can take place once again in a timely manner.
Until we meet again
remember we are all children of God.
For God and Country
