It’s International Dog Day.

Can it be for Myanmar’s dogs too?

The world doesn’t see the crisis Myanmar and her communities are living through. And it doesn’t see these dogs.

But they are loved.

This sweet woman took in dogs who were abandoned. She doesn’t need to be told to care. She needs resources. We will TNVR her dogs for free, as always.

At this monastery school, dogs live alongside the children. We will spay and neuter, vaccinate, deworm, treat mange, provide Bravecto, and teach the children humane care, rabies awareness and bite prevention.

Myanmar does not lack compassion. It lacks resources.

So today, while the world celebrates its dogs, can we make room for Myanmar’s too?

Recently, our Yangon team visited a government-run school where 15 community dogs live alongside hundreds of students. Through interactive lessons, children learned how to safely interact with dogs, understand canine body language, prevent dog bites, and discover why TNVR is the most humane way to protect both animals and communities.

Every donation to LSTSI helps create healthier dogs and safer communities across Myanmar through education, compassion, and TNVR.

Nearly 40% of people bitten by suspected rabid animals in Southeast Asia are children under 15. By teaching children how to interact with dogs safely, and by vaccinating community dogs, we're helping prevent bites before they happen.

This quote reminds me why I never give up.

I think about our Community Animal Guardians, who spend their days caring for dogs that most people never notice. I think about Dr. Kyaw and our Burmese veterinarians, students, and volunteers who continue to show up, day after day, believing every dog deserves a chance.

Every dog we treat, sterilize, and vaccinate is an investment in a healthier future—for animals, for communities, and for the next generation.
