Okefenokee Toastmasters Club Okefenokee Toastmasters are dedicated to becoming better listeners, confident leaders, and bold speakers. We are affiliated with Toastmasters International.

Okefenokee Toastmasters in Waycross meet every Wednesday at noon on Zoom. Aiming to meet first Wednesday of the month in person at our public library on Lee Avenue. We focus on improving our communication, listening and leadership skills. Join us for the educational programs, informative presentations and weekly fun sessions. How often do we mistake our own interpretations for the truth? 🤔

During our pre-District Conference educational session last October 10, Past International Director Dawn Frail shared a thought worth reflecting on:

“In the absence of information, people make up their own story.”

When we don't have the full picture, we naturally try to fill in the gaps. But what happens when the stories we tell ourselves are far from the truth?

Perhaps that's where misunderstandings begin, and why it's important to ask questions before jumping to conclusions and seek to understand before making judgments.
