This Friday , September 11th I will be stepping up 2,071 steps , the equivalent of 110 stories of the WTC in honor of those lost and those who continue to heal from that day. With the help and support of Brooke Keuvelaar Garrison and my 9Round Matthews family we are looking to raise $1 for every step to be donated to Primum Non Nocere Foundation
If you can donate $1 or $2 that would be great or just give me some motivation not to pass out half way through 😂

Primum Non Nocere Foundation:

It has been awhile since we have given a Helping the Helpers update… here is the latest

In late June I saw that a long time friend and EMS colleague was once again in a fight for her life. Beating breast cancer once, she was recently diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer again. She has immediately started an aggressive treatment plan and in true warrior maiden fashion fighting hard to beat this cancer once and for all. We just sent her $300 in fuel cards to help with her travel for treatments. We are also paying her electric utility bill for July. We hope this will help ease some of the stress while you fight and heal, we are all thinking and praying for you… We are EMS Strong 💚💚💚

There are no words that can ease the heartbreak of losing one of our own.

Today, our Medic family stands beside our brothers and sisters at Cleveland County EMS as they mourn the line-of-duty loss of Paramedic and Field Training Officer Ashley Moore.

To Ashley's family, friends, and every partner, coworker, and loved one whose life she touched, please know you are in our hearts. We are holding you close in our thoughts as you face the days ahead.

Ashley dedicated her life to serving others with compassion, courage, and unwavering commitment. Her service, her sacrifice, and the legacy she leaves behind will never be forgotten.

The EMS community is a family, and today we grieve together. Rest easy, Ashley. You will forever be missed. 💙

“I don’t love this job anymore.”

That sentence usually does not come from the lazy ones.

It comes from the ones who cared too much for too long.

The ones who ran the calls.
Stayed late.
Trained the new people.
Covered the shifts.
Carried the things nobody saw.

And the heartbreaking part?

Most of them were not broken by the job.

They were broken by the culture.

The gossip.
The politics.
The favoritism.
The cliques.
The leaders who protect titles harder than they protect people.
The coworkers who make the station, truck, office, or dispatch room feel heavier than the calls ever did.

That is what makes good first responders start looking for the door.

Not because they stopped caring.

Because they got tired of caring in places that made them feel disposable.

So if you feel like you lost the love for the job, maybe you did not lose the love.

Maybe you lost the safety.
The trust.
The peace.
The belief that your own people had your back.

Do not let broken culture convince you your heart for this work was fake.

This field still needs people who care.

Just make sure when it is your turn to lead…

you do not become the reason somebody else loses the love.
