It’s about to go down this Sunday!!!
Queens, NY based non-profit organization Taplife Hero Foundation is proud to honor The Rockettes of Color Alumnae as “Champions for Tap Dance” at our 10th National Tap Dance Day Celebration. Come join us for a day of family fun, music, and tap dance!
Congratulations 2026 “Champions for Tap Dance”, The Rockettes of Color Alumnae (ROCA) on your 41st Anniversary.
ROCA, Rockettes Of Color Alumnae, is a powerful example of what it means to be a true Champion for Tap Dance. As an organization rooted in legacy, excellence, representation, and service, ROCA stands as both a guardian of history and a living reminder of the doors that were opened through brilliance, discipline, and perseverance.
ROCA represents far more than a union of extraordinary performers. They represent a continued commitment to honoring the legacy of women of color who made their mark in one of America’s most visible and iconic performance institutions. Their presence helps preserve an important chapter of dance history that deserves to be seen, celebrated, and remembered with greater fullness and respect.
ROCA’s significance reaches beyond the stage. By coming together as alumnae, they affirm the value of sisterhood, cultural memory, and artistic lineage. They help ensure that younger generations can see that excellence in dance is not just about technique and performance, but also about dignity, visibility, and the courage to break barriers.
Taplife Hero Foundation is proud to recognize ROCA, Rockettes Of Color Alumnae, for their lasting contributions to dance, culture, and community, and for the inspiration they continue to provide through their legacy and presence.
Special thanks to world renowned tap dancer Nicole Hockenberry IG: for creating and designing our one-of-a-kind “Champions of Tap Dance” plaque.
