As we continue looking back at our 10th Anniversary National Tap Dance Day Celebration, I want to take a moment to thank some of the individuals, businesses, and organizations whose support helped make this event possible.

From local small businesses and community leaders to healthcare professionals, financial advisors, authors, and longtime friends of the tap dance community, their generosity helped us continue our mission of preserving, promoting, and advancing tap dance.

While the weather may have prevented us from gathering in Forest Park this year, it does not diminish the impact of those who believed in the event and chose to support Taplife Hero Foundation.

A special thank you to our presenting sponsor, Resorts World New York City, whose generous support helped lead this year’s celebration.

We are deeply grateful to Dr. Robert Gucciardo and Gucciardo Specific Chiropractic, Food As a Prescription, Loreto Testani and Wells Fargo Advisors, Russo's On The Bay In Howard Beach, Ny, Twist It Top It Self-Serve Frozen Yogurt, Bam's Auto Body@, and everyone who contributed to making our 10th anniversary possible.

Please take a moment to support the people and businesses that support the arts, education, and our local community. ❤️👞

It’s about to go down this Sunday!!!

Queens, NY based non-profit organization Taplife Hero Foundation is proud to honor The Rockettes of Color Alumnae as “Champions for Tap Dance” at our 10th National Tap Dance Day Celebration. Come join us for a day of family fun, music, and tap dance!

Congratulations 2026 “Champions for Tap Dance”, The Rockettes of Color Alumnae (ROCA) on your 41st Anniversary.

ROCA, Rockettes Of Color Alumnae, is a powerful example of what it means to be a true Champion for Tap Dance. As an organization rooted in legacy, excellence, representation, and service, ROCA stands as both a guardian of history and a living reminder of the doors that were opened through brilliance, discipline, and perseverance.

ROCA represents far more than a union of extraordinary performers. They represent a continued commitment to honoring the legacy of women of color who made their mark in one of America’s most visible and iconic performance institutions. Their presence helps preserve an important chapter of dance history that deserves to be seen, celebrated, and remembered with greater fullness and respect.

ROCA’s significance reaches beyond the stage. By coming together as alumnae, they affirm the value of sisterhood, cultural memory, and artistic lineage. They help ensure that younger generations can see that excellence in dance is not just about technique and performance, but also about dignity, visibility, and the courage to break barriers.

Taplife Hero Foundation is proud to recognize ROCA, Rockettes Of Color Alumnae, for their lasting contributions to dance, culture, and community, and for the inspiration they continue to provide through their legacy and presence.

Special thanks to world renowned tap dancer Nicole Hockenberry IG: for creating and designing our one-of-a-kind “Champions of Tap Dance” plaque.

Tap dancers, teachers, and studios — this is for you.

In 25 days, tap dancers will perform at our 10th Anniversary National Tap Dance Day Celebration in Queens, NY — honoring the Rockettes of Color Alumnae in front of their community.

Right now, we are raising the funds to make sure every one of them gets paid to tap dance.

10 years.

That’s how long we’ve been bringing tap dance to the people of Queens — free, live, and unapologetic.

This May 2nd and 3rd, I’m teaching Lucky to Be Alive — one of the pieces that has defined our National Tap Dance Day Celebration since the beginning. Advanced choreography, 3 hours, all the laughs and sweat you can handle.

Every dollar from this class goes directly to paying tap dancers to perform at our 10th Anniversary Celebration on May 24th. Because tap dancers deserve to get paid.

Join me live or catch the recording on your own time.

This is the one you don’t want to miss. Ten years in the making.
