TODAY! JAARS DAY is taking to the skies TODAY!

We’re excited to have one of our aviation friends flying his Piper Cherokee for a special flight promoting JAARS Day. During the flight, he’ll trace the words “JAARS DAY” with his flight path. When viewed on a flight-tracking app, the route will spell out JAARS DAY, just like the image below!

Want to follow along? You won’t be able to see the letters from the ground. Instead, open a flight-tracking app such as FlightRadar24 or FlightAware and search for the aircraft’s tail number, N6886W. Once the flight is underway, you’ll be able to watch his route as he creates the JAARS DAY message in the sky.

The flight will take about six hours, so aviation enthusiasts and anyone who loves tracking tail numbers can follow the flight in real time—or pull up the completed flight afterward to see the full JAARS DAY route.

Training is underway!

From September 22–October 18, two JAARS staff members are teaching Water Travel Safety Training with ALEM (Wycliffe Brazil). This hands-on training is equipping participants with skills to travel more safely by boat as they serve in remote communities.

Please pray for our instructors and participants—that the teaching will be clear, that everyone will learn what they need, and that this training will help prepare them for the challenges of water travel in their ministry contexts.

Thank you for praying for JAARS! We appreciate your partnering in prayer!

Here are a few prayer points:

September 18 Praise God for the fruitful Global Ops meetings with all of the directors. Pray for wisdom and discernment as they follow up on these discussions and seek God's direction for the work ahead.

September 19 Please continue to pray for JAARS Leadership as they work to complete FY2027 budget very soon.

September 20 Pray for safe travels and productive meetings for a staff member traveling to Brazil to participate in a partner organization's board meetings.

September 21 The JAARS Aviation Technical Conference is being held this week at the JAARS base. Pray the meetings will be helpful and beneficial to all of the delegates from the many different organizations represented.

September 22 Pray for the Kwadima II as it makes a pickup run to bring the Diodio translation committee from Goodenough Island to Alotau for the Translator Training Course II.

September 23 Pray for the annual Water Safety Training with ALEM (Wycliffe Brazil), taking place from September 22-October 18, with three JAARS staff members teaching. Pray that the instruction will be clear and that the training will meet the needs of all the participants.

September 24 We have a new team assuming the Safety and Security responsibilities here at JAARS. Pray that they will work well together and manage this important area effectively.

September 25 Pray for our Accounting department as they work with the IT department to resolve several software issues.

What happens before a Bible goes to print? A whole lot of careful work—and a lot of prayer! On Monday at JAARS, staff and volunteers from JAARS, SIL, Wycliffe, and the local community gathered to proof the Bible being prepared for the Dan people of Liberia.

For several hours, the team checked pagination, lines, headers, chapter numbers, and more. When they finished, they signed the proofing certificate and prayed for the next steps.

The draft will return to the local Dan translators working with Lutheran Bible Translators in Liberia for a final proofread before, Lord willing, heading to Korea for printing. From translation to printing, God is using many hands to bring His Word to the Dan people. Praise the Lord for every step!

You don’t get a send-off like this every day!

After a month of working alongside our partners at in Nairobi, our aviation maintenance team received a traditional Kenyan “thank you”—a goat roast!

It was a memorable way to celebrate the friendships formed, the work accomplished on the airplane, and the opportunity to serve together. What a great way to wrap up their time in Kenya!

Thank you for praying! They arrived home late Sunday night.
