Welcome this big meatball to the 3 Chix family!

This boy was a last-minute intake needing a warm place to land during the snow storm this weekend. He is settling in great and he is just the sweetest old man! Thank you Cheryl Tarte Ownbey for lending us kennel panels to set up a cozy quarantine pen for him last night! We plan to get him vetted and get his shots updated once the roads clear. He enjoyed the snow just long enough for a couple pictures this morning before he decided it was time to go back inside!

Urgent need for foster! We do not have this pup and will be out of town, so we cannot take him. We received this message about this baby:

"My daughter picked up an injured pittie mix yesterday. No microchip, neutered, but no one has claimed him. We’ve taken him to the emergency vet and he’s all stitched up. Vet thinks he was attacked by another animal. He is sweet, but timid. Not aggressive in any way and at the vet, seemed unbothered by other dogs. We cannot keep him due to lease restrictions. I kept him at the E-vet last night because we can’t take him in, but I have to pick him up today. Do you think you could help?" (Picture is prior to the vet visit!)

June Bug is looking for her forever home or a foster home!!

June is a ~1.5 year old Australian Shepherd mix. She was found dumped on the side of the interstate, extremely pregnant and scared. After having her babies, she absolutely blossomed into a confident, adventurous dog. She is looking for an active home where her people will take her on new adventures! Junie is the perfect size at about 40 lbs and very compact/short! She is young and high energy but settles well in the house and in her crate. Once she bonds with her people, she is the very best snuggler! She is crate trained, potty-trained, and leash trained on a slip lead. She can be excited around some other dogs, but it is easily managed, and she LOVES to work for her food! She is very trainable and wants to work her brain! She knows some basic obedience, such as sit/down/stay and would love to keep learning more with her new people.

June Bug is wonderful with other dogs over 35lbs, and would love a playmate. She does have high prey drive due to her breed, so she would need management and slow introductions to cats and no small outdoor animals or livestock. Between her prey drive and her play style, she would also likely be too rough for dogs under 35 lbs. She is a social butterfly with every person she has ever met and adores kids! She is still young and excitable, so dog-savvy, older kids would be best. She is very agile and will jump low or weak fencing, so a secure fence is required for offleash time, but we will still absolutely consider anyone with unfenced property as long as she stays leashed.

Cupid, Arrow, and June Bug are still looking for their forever homes or fosters!!!

Junie B and Arrow braved the White Water Center for some live music and loves this week! They absolutely rocked it, but still no luck on finding their people 💔 They are all crate trained, and the puppies are working on potty training!

We cannot believe these sweet puppies have not found their forever people yet! We have decided to begin looking for temporary fosters as well, since this is such an important time for them to get individual attention and socialization. We will cover medical and food costs - you just have to love on them like one of your own! They are VERY sweet, smart puppies, and have been started on potty training.

Our remaining puppies, Valentine, Cupid, and Arrow, are ready to find their permanent people! 🏡❤️

Mama is a cattle dog mix, but we are not sure what daddy was! They are going to be BIG dogs! They are currently between 13-17lbs at 8 weeks old. All of the puppies were raised on "puppy culture" protocols, including early neurological stimulation and sound desensitization. They have been handled regularly and have had weekly nail trims since they were born. They have also been started on potty training since 3 weeks old and they catch on very quickly! They have been raised around kids, other small and large dogs, cats, poultry, and large farm animals. However, their mom does have high prey drive and they are herding breeds, so they will need continued impulse control training and exposure to set them up for success living with small animals! These three initially get less attention since their siblings are such striking colors, but they instantly win everyone over with their personalities! They are WONDERFUL puppies!

(M) Valentine is the sweetest, most submissive boy. He is very soft and takes even the lightest corrections from other animals and people to heart. He is the biggest puppy in the litter, reaching 17lbs this week!

💘 Cupid 💘
(F) Cupid is a very sweet fan-favorite of anyone who spends time around the puppies. She has no problem keeping up with her siblings during playtime, but once she decides it's naptime she's ready for a comfy lap to hunker down in!

🏹 Arrow 🏹
(F) Arrow is the most energetic of the three! She has energy, drive, and a pinch of sass just like her mom and would be most suited to an active home that can continue training!

The puppies are officially 8 weeks old and ready to go to their forever homes! 💓🏡

They were the star of the show at the clinic last week for their first round of vaccines, and they were SO brave! ⭐️

Smooch was the first to go with his new people this weekend, and he is settling in great with his new human and fur siblings! 💞

The puppies are 5 weeks old this week and we wanted to send a HUGE thank you to Gina Lynn Gardner and her Animal Care Club with South Charlotte Middle School!!! They surprised us with a "puppy shower" for June Bug and her babies complete with baby shampoo, food, treats, and the cutest toys for mama and her puppies! 💞

The puppies are getting sooo big and really showing their personalities this week! They have been loving outside time and they are doing great eating solid food and drinking water! We will start accepting applications on the available puppies next week so keep an eye out! 👀

3 week pupdate on Junie's puppies!

They all have their eyes open and they are on the move! They've been having some time outside in their playpen, and they will start solid food and the basics of potty training this week 🥳 They finished their early neurological stimulation and now they have started sound desensitization the past couple days, so they have a TV in their room playing fireworks, thunderstorms, and other "scary" sounds.

Welcome to the world, Littles 💞

June had a very successful labor and is already a great mom! Final count is 5 healthy babies! We got genders, weights, better pics, and changed out the blankets while she was out to potty. We have three girls and two boys!
