UPDATE from JAARS|CrossVenture:
2024 marked the last year of running the CrossVenture program at our Belisi village setting at JAARS. I'm a little late in posting this. FB got overlooked as we wrapped up the season and sent emails out to alumni.

Thank you all for a wonderful 8 years of exploring our Christian mandate to take the gospel of Jesus to the ends of the year.

We'd love to hear from you any remembrances or ways the program impacted you. (We will continue to run our aviation camp: Aero with limited spaces)

Sing to the Lord, all the earth, announce his salvation, day after day. Tell His glory among the nations; among all peoples, His wondrous deeds.

Coracles are small boats traditionally made from woven willow branches, animal skins, and tar. They are seen in traditions around the world, including in Wales, Ireland, Scotland, India, Iraq, Vietnam, and Tibet. The oldest known coracle is mentioned in a 4,000-year-old cuneiform tablet, in a flood account predating others by 2,250 years. Some scholars believe that baby Moses was placed in a coracle-like basket on the Nile in Exodus 2:3. In the Narnia book, Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Reepicheep uses a coracle to travel to the waterfall at world’s end.

"JAARS Maritime Services is about more than just providing missionaries with reliable water transportation. It’s about equipping our teams, who are on or headed to the field, with the proper gear and training to safely operate, especially when water travel is their only option, in and around the places where they have committed to serve."

- Tim McIntosh, Director of Maritime Services

At CrossVenture|Coastal, you’ll learn about the role of boats in the missionary field and get hands-on experience working as a crewmember. You’ll even get to pilot some of the boats!

The Tuareg are a nomadic people group who live in the desert of West Africa. Most Tuaregs are Muslim, and the men veil parts of their faces while the women do not. While they have a New Testament in their language, they do not yet have the complete Bible, and very few are believers. Pray for them today and consider how you can be a part of getting the gospel to all peoples!

A large flightless bird with a neck like a pool noodle, the ostrich roams the Savanna. Ostriches lay their eggs in a common nest shared with other ostriches, and the females of the group guard it by day while the males guard it by night.
