Meet Florence.
The first photo is hard to look at. Florence was 10 years old with a tumor the size of a cantaloupe on her face. She had Burkitt lymphoma — the most common childhood cancer in sub-Saharan Africa, and Uganda has one of the highest rates in the world.
Her parents watched their daughter suffer with no money for treatment and nowhere to turn.
With the help of generous donors, Rehema Health Foundation was able to fund Florence’s surgery in March 2024, followed by months of chemotherapy and radiation. Between treatments, we brought her home to her family — even though home is a mud hut. Because being surrounded by the people who love you gives you the courage to keep fighting.
The second photo was taken in August 2025 when I visited Florence in her village. She’s healthy. She’s smiling. And she’s living her dream — going to school for the first time in a long time.
Florence’s story goes even further. She used to walk a long distance every day to collect water from a muddy, contaminated ground source — the only water her village had. Through a generous donor, we dug a well in her village. Now Florence and hundreds of her neighbors have clean, safe water.
This is what your donations do. This is what’s possible when people care.
People talk about being a good person like it’s something you are. It’s not. It’s something you do. And there is no greater joy than doing something for someone who has no way to repay you.
There are more children like Florence waiting for help. If her story moves you, please consider donating. Even $50 covers a month of transportation to chemotherapy.

🌍✈️ Heading to Uganda! ✨
Today, Linda and I are leaving for our second mission trip to Uganda! We’re so excited to see our Ugandan team again and reconnect with the amazing kids we’ve been able to help through Rehema Health Foundation ministry.
Thanks to the support of our church, First Baptist of Fort Mill, we’re bringing children, we have helped, from all over the country to Kamonkoli for a reunion. We’ll get to spend the day together, share a meal, and hear their stories about how Rehema Health Foundation has made a difference in their lives. We are excited to have our Minister of Missions, Bobby Tyler, joining us this year in Uganda to witness God’s faithfulness in action.
Please keep us in your prayers as we head out on this journey.

Stay tuned for updates💛

🌟 Exciting Collaboration in the Works! 🌟
We had the honor of hosting Robert Katende and Thomas Hatton, COO of Sports Outreach, at our home during their recent visit from Uganda. Robert, the International Director of Nia Davenport Medical Clinic in Kampala, is doing incredible work providing exceptional healthcare to the local community.
Our meeting was filled with inspiring discussions about our shared missions in Uganda and the power of collaboration. By working together with other ministries and organizations, we can multiply our efforts and impact, reaching even more people in need.
A heartfelt thank you to Robert and Thomas for taking the time to meet with us. We're excited about the opportunities ahead and the positive change we can create together!

Robert Katende's journey is a remarkable testament to resilience and determination. Before becoming a pivotal figure in healthcare advocacy, Robert achieved international recognition for his work with the youth in Uganda as a chess coach. He is famously known for mentoring Phiona Mutesi, one of Uganda's first titled female chess players, whose inspiring story was captured in the acclaimed book and film "Queen of Katwe." His efforts in using chess as a tool for empowerment and education have transformed the lives of countless children, offering them hope and new opportunities. Robert's background in engineering and his passion for community development have continually driven him to seek innovative ways to uplift those around him.
We invite you to join those supporting the Rehema Health Foundation's mission to provide quality healthcare and empowerment to critically ill children in underserved communities in Uganda. Your generous donations will directly transform lives. Together, we can make a significant impact and continue the legacy of hope and empowerment. To make a donation, visit our website and be part of this incredible journey towards healthier futures. Thank you for your compassion and support.

Grateful for Our Blessings 🌟🇺🇸
Hey everyone,
I just returned from an eye-opening trip to Uganda, and I wanted to share some thoughts and a few pictures with you all. 🇺🇬📸
During my travels, I visited a local community and saw firsthand the struggles they face daily, especially regarding access to clean water. The water source they rely on is far from ideal—it's something most of us here in America can't even imagine. 💧😢
Seeing this made me realize just how blessed we are to have access to clean, safe drinking water at the turn of a tap. It's something we often take for granted, but it's a luxury that millions around the world don't have. 💦✨
Let's take a moment to appreciate the simple things in life, like clean water, and be grateful for the opportunities and comforts we enjoy by being born in America. Let's also remember to support and uplift those who are less fortunate whenever we can. 🌍❤️
Feeling incredibly thankful and more determined than ever to make a positive impact.

Reaching many of the village’s in eastern Uganda presented a significant challenge, with the terrain making vehicle access very challenging. This is where Marita lives with her very loving family and caring community; we first met her over a year ago when she was suffering from a large facial tumor. Thanks to the generosity and support of caring individuals from America, she is now thriving and eager to attend school. The villages we visited, home to some of the children we've assisted in their battle with cancer, required half a day’s journey to reach, highlighting the isolation these communities face. Florence's family really showed what resilience looks like, and I'm grateful to have had the chance to personally connect with them. This journey would not have been possible without my sister Linda and our dedicated Ugandan team. Thanks to everyone who made this trip possible. The people and faces are forever itched in my memories.

We received an amazing welcome at Florence's village from the entire clan dancing and singing. Florence’s parents Robert and Florence, were incredibly gracious. We immediately recognized them from their many pictures. Meeting Florence in person, after only seeing her in pictures and videos, was overwhelming. It was profoundly moving to see her thriving after enduring so much pain and a long recovery from her battle with cancer. Thank you to everyone who supports the Rehema Health Foundation, making it possible to save these precious lives.
