I hear so many people say,
"I was born poor, and I'll die poor."
"My mama was poor."
"My grandma was poor."
"I come from a long line of poor folks."
Friend, stop speaking and claiming generational curses over your life.
Speak life.
Speak hope.
Speak God's promises.
God did not create us to live defeated. He created us with purpose. He wants a relationship with us, and He delights in blessing His children.
Many of the struggles we face come from the choices we make, but God is always ready to help us, guide us, and lead us into something better when we give Him our hearts.
A few months ago, I was forced to move from a home where I had spent years planting flowers. I had invested money, time, and countless hours cultivating a yard that I loved. It was winter when I left, and most of my flowers were still dormant in the ground. I couldn't take them with me, not even my momma ice cream peony that I have loved since I was three years old.
One day I sat outside and simply prayed:
"Lord, you know how much I love flowers and birds. They bring me so much joy. Will You fill my yard with them?"
Since then, flowers have been popping up everywhere. I've been given flowers, cuttings, and plants. Just last week I planted five hydrangeas and two Peggy Martin roses! Every morning I walk outside and hear the birds singing.
And you know what? I believe there are more blessings coming.
Not because I deserve them, but because my Father is a good, good Father who cares about the things that matter to His children.
Never think your prayers are too small.
You can ask Him for wisdom.
You can ask Him for direction.
You can ask Him for provision.
And yes...
You can even ask Him for flowers. 🌸💗
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." — Jeremiah 29:11
