WAA Volleyball is a developmental league open to girls and boys ages 5-18 of all skill levels. Each player will be placed on a team and receive a uniform to keep.

The Summer season will run from June 9 to August 17 and will practice one night a week with games on Sunday afternoons.

The focus will be on skills development, working towards age-specific goals so players can be prepared for the upcoming Fall season!

DETAILS
Ages: Open to girls and boys ages 5 to 18. All play is co-ed. All skill levels welcome.

Divisions: 9U, 12U, 13+. Player age as of May 1, 2025.

Practices: One practice per week
9U teams practice on Wednesdays
12U teams practice on Mondays
13+ teams practice on Wednesdays
*First practices: Monday, June 9 (12U) / Wednesday, June 11 (9U and 13+)

Games: Eight-game regular season (played on Sunday afternoons)

First games: Sunday, June 22
Games *are* scheduled for Sunday, July 6

Coffey Courts is closed July 12 - 19
*No games Sunday, July 13
*No practices Monday, July 14 or Wednesday, July 16

Last practices: Monday, August 11 / Wednesday, August 13
Last games: Sunday, August 17
*No postseason tournament for summer season

The St. Patrick’s Day Festival will be taking place in Waxhaw on Main Street on Sunday, March 16th. Traffic to Coffey Courts may be more congested than normal, so please allow extra time to get to your scheduled game. 🍀

REMINDER: Tonight is 9U evaluations and first practice!

Tonight’s evaluation will coincide with the first scheduled 9U practice, which will start each Friday at 6pm. For this week, we ask that you arrive a few minutes early at 5:45 to get checked in.

At 6pm, we’ll get the kids together, run them through drills, and coaches will select their teams. The second portion of the practice time will be devoted to coaches working with their respective teams.

Check-in time: 5:45pm
Evaluations start: 6pm

Ready…..bump….set….SPIKE!!! (Ok, you might not be awake yet, but my dad jokes/humor is!)

HURRY! Regular Volleyball registration is closing soon!! Feb. 5th is what we’ve set as our FINAL day before adding a late fee. This way we can set teams and get a safe start on other administrative items.

It’s an early Saturday morning, but my mind is on the kids of Waxhaw and the surrounding area. We’re looking forward to seeing several returning & some new faces in our league and adding some new experiences as well. We’ve already seen several people from last season register so I know we’re already “SET” for good times!
