C**t Thompson Basic Training update:
C**t informed us in his August 1st letter that he was called into the Drill Sergeant's office, the DS said "Thompson; your peers say you are always pushing them and try to run things; so many people said that Thompson you are now Platoon Leader, 1st Platoon War Eagles, 2nd Battalion, 39th Infantry Regiment"
C**t is having a blast in basic training, he likes everything they do, running, pushups, climbing, rappelling, the gas chamber, running some more, eating anything he can get his hands on, shooting, he is so excited about all the shooting he wants to put on a class for the Boy Scout troop.
The one thing he does not like is all the whining and complaining some of the people do. C**t is not sympathetic at all, he said "I don't say it out loud but I'm think that they raised their hand and volunteered, suck it up ."
Trenda and I are proud of him and are very happy he is having fun at summer camp........

I would like to send out our condolences, our thoughts and prayers to Troop member Phillip Vroman and our Committee Chair Tamara Vroman with the loss of Phillip's paternal grandmother Ann who passed early Thursday morning.
Visitation for the family will be Saturday, 17 June from 1:00 - 3:00PM in Waxahachie at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home ,
Flowers have been sent from the Troop 1880.

Troop 1880 had a great camp-out this weekend. We would like to thank Mr. Mitchel for all the prep and work he did to make this a great camp-out. He setup a shooting range and one of the nicest fire rings we have had the pleasure of cooking and relaxing around.
The whole troop had a blast shooting until they were wore out. Everyone improved their shooting and confidence and are looking forward to the next shooting event at Mr. Mitchel's.
