Wilson Public Library of Pike County has been serving the growing needs of county residents since 1939,

with a main library located in Waverly, and 3 branches throughout the county! We participate in a state-wide sharing system, gaining access to materials from nearly 100 libraries in Ohio! We are running a campaign entitled "The Next Chapter" to raise money for a new main library facility in Waverly. Our current location has served us well, but as parts of our library are over 100 years old and is a former chicken hatchery and livery stable, time-consistent wear and the ever growing needs of the community show us the necessity of having a library facility that is designed to be a library. Even the current parking is a challenge, as we have only 12 spaces, only one of which is suitable for handicapped parking. Contributing to the building of a public library has positive, longstanding effects for years to come, and will aid the residents of Pike County for generations. We also have created the Pike County Library Foundation Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization whose purpose is to raise money for the Garnet A. Wilson Public Library, more specifically to help us build the new building. Coming next week at the Eastern Branch...
Monday is baby story time. Bring those little ones in for some fun, interactive play!

Tuesday is our rescheduled time for "Nature's Medicine Chest", an informative program to learn about healing properties that can be found right in your back yard. If you have ever wanted to dive into natural healing, this one is for you!

Wednesday we have toddler story time. Sensory play, stories, snacks and fun!

Friday is our adult craft with Jess. She has a fun, adorable stained glass art craft planned! If you would like to register for this event, please call us at 740-226-4408 to get signed up!

We hope you will join us this week for our crafts and events. We have a craft for today at 1pm for everyone who has signed up. We have Chair Yoga at 1pm tomorrow and Friday. We have Storytime at 4pm this Wednesday. Also as this month draws to an end we have our September calendar made up. We hope to see you at the library!

EASTERN BRANCH

Last week we resumed Cookbook Club and crowned a new "Queen of the Kitchen", Marsha Mathews! I didn't get any pictures of the food, but among the sweet summer desserts we had ambrosia salad, pecan dump cake, caramel apple cake, pineapple angel food cake, fruit and dip and more! If you haven't tried cookbook club you absolutely need to! We also played a rousing kitchen/cooking themed game of Headbanz! For September, Cookbook Club will be all things apples!
We have some fun things planned for this week: story times and paint & pastries. We do still have a few openings for Saturday's paint program so call us at 740-226-4408 if you'd like to join us!
