Wilson Public Library of Pike County has been serving the growing needs of county residents since 1939,

with a main library located in Waverly, and 3 branches throughout the county! We participate in a state-wide sharing system, gaining access to materials from nearly 100 libraries in Ohio! We are running a campaign entitled "The Next Chapter" to raise money for a new main library facility in Waverly. Our current location has served us well, but as parts of our library are over 100 years old and is a former chicken hatchery and livery stable, time-consistent wear and the ever growing needs of the community show us the necessity of having a library facility that is designed to be a library. Even the current parking is a challenge, as we have only 12 spaces, only one of which is suitable for handicapped parking. Contributing to the building of a public library has positive, longstanding effects for years to come, and will aid the residents of Pike County for generations. We also have created the Pike County Library Foundation Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization whose purpose is to raise money for the Garnet A. Wilson Public Library, more specifically to help us build the new building. What a week we have lined up! Story time is this evening at 5pm! Who doesn't love sitting for a story while snacking on delicious popsicles?!

We also have an interesting craft time coming up tomorrow at 3:30pm. Come in and create your own 3d paper model pyramid and enjoy some snacks!

We will round out the week with a fun adult craft that is easy to do and cheap to make! And the end result is beautiful and timeless! Please call in to register for the adult craft, as spots are limited.

Another exciting week full of fun for the Eastern Branch!

Monday is one not to be missed! In honor of America 250 and Flag Day, Betsy Ross herself is coming to visit! Okay, so we have a wonderful, talented lady dressed as Betsy Ross that is coming to share the story of our first American flag and you are going to want to experience it! This is for all ages and is not to be missed! Take a step back in time and help us celebrate!

Tuesday is always a fun day! At 3:30 the girls from the Recovery Council will be coming with a fun craft/activity. Kayla and Brooklyn always bring a good time! At 5:00 is Cookbook Club! This month's choice is "Favorite Family Recipes". Have something your family asks for again and again? Share it with us! Maybe YOU could be the next "Queen of the Kitchen"!

Wednesday we will have a special story time and do some dino-yoga! Bring your kiddos in, no matter the age, and join in the fun! You might want to bring a beach towel or something for them to lay out on the floor because you never know what moves that dinos may be doing! 1:00 is when the party starts!

On Friday, June19th, all branches of the library will be closed in observance of Juneteenth.

Our old fashioned county fair that was scheduled for Saturday will be rescheduled for September. Keep your eyes open for that date and the details!

All programs are FREE with supplies provided! If you aren't spending your summer at the library, what are you waiting for???

We had such a fun time yesterday with all of our little toddlers! It may have looked like mass chaos, okay it was totally mass chaos, but it was a great time! These little guys sure know how to make us smile! Be sure to check out the video in the comments of their shenanigans!
