For many students, school breakfast and lunch are the only meals of the day. For these children and their families, the weekend often creates a food crisis; a weekend can be a long time to go without food. By participating in the Hen Hustle, you are taking the first step toward fighting hunger and food insecurity in our community.

The History of The Hen Hustle….

Since starting this “little” fun run 5 years ago we have had 550 runners/walkers, and raised $14,800.00 for School District 145 backpack program.

None of this would have be possible without YOU!!

Thank you for helping us spread the word!! We are excited to see the impact we will have in our community this year!!!

Wow!!! What an incredible Thanksgiving morning!! Thanks to all our runners (176 of you) and our wonderful sponsors we raised $5400.00 for School District 145 Backpack program. This would not have been possible without all of YOU!! We feel very blessed to be able to make a difference in our community!! Can't wait to see you all next year at The Hen Hustle! The Hen Hustle makes a huge difference in our community! It not only benefits School District145 pack pack program, but over the past 3 years we have donated 878 non perishable food items to the Waverly Food Bank. This year we decided to bless our older community members; The Mulberry at Waverly.

Needs:
Money for haircuts ( many of the residents are on Medicad and do not have additional funds for haircuts).
Bingo Prizes: playing cards, nail polish, lotion, markers, coloring books, puzzle books etc..
Art work for resident’s rooms ( many of the residents have blank walls in their rooms).

Every participant that donates an item for The Mulberry of Waverly will be entered into a drawing to win a 3 month membership to The WAVE!

We currently have 150 participants and so many amazing sponsors!! We can’t wait to see the impact we are going to have on our community this year!!
