💙 THANK YOU, KIWANIS CLUB OF HARRIS COUNTY! 💙

What if there were no bridges?

Imagine standing before a wide river, looking longingly at the other side, wishing you could cross but having no way to get there.

Now imagine being a child who cannot read.

Literacy is a bridge—to confidence, opportunity, imagination, education, and hope. Without it, the journey forward can feel overwhelming.

At the Children’s Literacy & Arts Festival, we said something powerful:

“Let’s build a bridge.”

A bridge where children can discover stories.
A bridge where imagination grows.
A bridge that connects children and families to learning, resources, and brighter futures.

And when we asked for help building that bridge, the Kiwanis Club of Harris County answered the call:

“We will help.”

A heartfelt THANK YOU to the Kiwanis Club of Harris County for being a Silver Sponsor of this year’s Children’s Literacy & Arts Festival! 🎉📚

Your generosity helps us bring our community together to celebrate literacy, learning, and opportunity for Harris County children and families.

Because when communities build bridges together—children cross into brighter futures.

Please help us show Kiwanis some love in the comments and thank them for investing in our children! 💙

It’s an opportunity to help ease the financial burden many families face while making sure our children know they are loved, valued, and cheered on by an entire community.

And of course—we’re going to have FUN while doing it! 🎉

MENTAL HEALTH DAY IN HARRIS COUNTY!
There’s something powerful about a community that chooses to care for one another—not just physically, but emotionally and mentally too. That’s why we are so excited to see New Horizons taking the opportunity to host a Mental Health Day right here in Harris County. 💚

Mental health matters because it impacts every part of our lives—our families, our friendships, our workplaces, and our ability to thrive as a community. When people feel supported, heard, and connected, our entire community becomes stronger.

And sometimes, we all need a reminder to reconnect with our WHY.

Because healthy minds build healthy families.
Because no one should struggle alone.
Because support, resources, and compassion can change lives.

📚🎨 HELP US BUILD A LITERACY BRIDGE FOR OUR CHILDREN 🎨📚

Literacy opens doors… and art gives children the courage to walk through them.

The Children’s Literacy & Arts Festival is coming to the Harris County Public Library on May 29th from 11 AM–2 PM, and we are calling on businesses, churches, organizations, and community champions to help make this memorable day possible.

This festival will connect children and families with:
✨ Children’s authors
✨ Story walks
✨ Art stations
✨ Hands-on literacy activities
✨ Community resources
✨ Creative experiences that inspire learning and imagination

Reading and creativity are the building blocks of strong communities. When children discover the joy of books and self-expression, they begin building confidence, curiosity, and dreams for their future.

“Art is literacy of the heart.” — Elliot Eisner

Working together, we can help our children build a veritable Literacy Bridge—a journey of discovery transporting them toward opportunity and success.

Please review the attached flyer and sponsorship information and make a plan to support us. Become a sponsor today… or tag someone and encourage them to join you.

Because every child deserves the chance to read, create, dream, and thrive. ❤️

Just saw this in my inbox-late notice but please share!!!
Our young people are growing up in a world filled with pressure, stress, mixed messages, and choices that can impact their health and future in powerful ways. Now more than ever, they need caring adults, honest conversations, accurate information, and strong community support to help guide them toward healthy decisions.

That’s why this conversation matters. 💙

Georgia PTA is hosting “Clearing the Air: Va**ng & Teen Mental Health”—a virtual event focused on helping families, educators, students, and community members better understand the connection between va**ng, addiction, mental health, and the challenges facing today’s youth.

📅 May 12, 2026
⏰ 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
💻 Virtual Event

Participants will hear from experts including:
✔️ American Lung Association
✔️ Caron Treatment Centers
✔️ Georgia Appleseed Center for Law & Justice

Topics include:
✨ Real facts about va**ng
✨ Addiction and prevention insights
✨ Mental health impacts
✨ Law and policy information
✨ Community solutions and open discussion

Healthy choices do not happen by accident—they happen when young people are surrounded by education, encouragement, support, and adults willing to have the hard conversations.

Let’s work together to empower our youth to choose health, hope, purpose, and positive futures.

📣 Parents, students, educators, and community members are encouraged to attend. Please share widely and help spread the word.
