🎨 Creativity is blooming at WSTEM! 🌈

Our students have been working hard, trying new techniques, and bringing their imaginations to life in art class. Check out some of their recent projects!

🦎 2nd/3rd Grade: Students practiced multiple watercolor techniques and voted as a class to paint chameleons! We love seeing their creativity and individual styles shine through.

🐾 4th/5th Grade: Students designed and created their own animal puppets, putting their artistic skills and imaginations to work!

🦋 Butterfly Welcome: Students have been drawing and watercoloring beautiful butterflies to decorate our library space. These colorful creations are a wonderful way to welcome everyone into our new building while connecting with our pollinator unit in science!

We love seeing our students explore, experiment, and express themselves through art. 💜 Want to help keep the creativity flowing? 🎨 Check out the SignUpGenius in the comments to donate supplies for WSTEM’s art classes!

🎶 LESS THAN A WEEK UNTIL TEDx! ❤️

We’re cheering extra loud for one of our own! 🥳

On October 17, WSTEM music teacher Lisa Werner will take the TEDx Oconomowoc stage to share her powerful idea: “The Sound of Action: How Music Can Change the World.”

As Lisa shared:

“In my classroom, one student’s song inspired her neighborhood to start weekly trash cleanups. 🤯 That moment changed everything for me.” 🌎🎶

Lisa realized that music can do so much more than entertain. It can inspire people to care, connect, and take action—and that’s the kind of creativity, curiosity, and real-world impact we love at WSTEM!

Lisa, congratulations on this incredible accomplishment! We are so proud to have you as part of the WSTEM family. Your passion for music, learning, and empowering young people to make a difference shines through in everything you do. ❤️

Want to cheer Lisa on in person? 🎤👏🏽 Come support her at TEDx Oconomowoc on October 17! Ticket information is linked in the comments and our bio.

Good luck, Lisa! You’re amazing, and we can’t wait to see you take the stage. Go make some noise! 🎶❤️

💜 This is what community is all about!

We’ve been so lucky to have our WSTEM community rally around us, and the other day was a perfect example. Mrs. Mader, our longtime (now retired!) 2/3 teacher, was back in our new space helping teachers, organizing classrooms, and even recruiting a few 7th graders to help hang bulletin boards. 🥹

Once a part of WSTEM, always a part of WSTEM. We’re so grateful for the people who continue to show up and lend a hand. This community is truly something special! 🥰
