We are excited to announce a special summer session - a cross between a book club, conversation and learning. Participants will explore "Cafe in Berlin," a collection of approachable and enjoyable short stories designed for beginning learners. Join us for four Thursdays, Aug. 6, Aug. 13, Aug. 20 and Aug. 27 at 6 pm in the Kegel's Beer Garden. If the weather doesn't cooperate, we will move inside. Build confidence in reading comprehension and enjoy conversational practice with Cafe in Berlin.

It’s June Dairy Month! German immigrants played a pivotal role in making Wisconsin “America’s Dairyland.” While many German farmers initially focused on wheat, this changed as soils deteriorated from one-sided use. That’s when the Germans in Wisconsin adjusted to specializing in dairy farming.

Many German and Swiss immigrants brought their knowledge of cheese-making with them to the United States. It didn’t take long for small cheese factories to pop up across Wisconsin. This made Wisconsin the leading cheese producer in the country.
