So many people are asking how Pops, the Hodag fest Chihuahua was caught...so here's his story.
Pops ran 2.2 miles from the festival grounds.
He went to Sun Prairie Road and went to the end of that and hid for a day. Then came back out looking for his people the next day . He was very afraid and running from everyone. The traffic got pretty heavy with people looking for him. I have to say Sean and Joe that live down River Road helped me immensely! Shout out to those two folks for being such a great help. I went to freshen up the trap I had set for him on the end of Sun prairie Road Wednesday, and when I went to leave I saw him trotting up towards River Road. He would not come. I called Sean and asked her to come and assist. He got on River Road and started running back towards Rhinelander. He ran a mile and darted into the woods. Then he popped back out and ran back to Sun prairie Road. And all this time we were trying to capture him and trying to block traffic. Sean went to get a big fishing net, while I directed him back down Sun prairie Road. There was no traffic down there. I ended up throwing a large towel on him to stop him and snatched him up!
His owners were already on their way to search for him so they were overjoyed when I called them telling them I had finally caught him.
He was immediately given cool fresh water and placed in a live trap so he could relax and cool down in the air conditioning in my truck while waiting for his owners.
Pops was so very happy to see his people! There were definitely tears of joy all around!
The owners were very grateful and so relieved to get their little guy back safe in their arms. ❤️🐾

REUNITED!!

Honey decided to hide under a deck of a nearby home. The home owners called and we had her back in her mama's arms quickly. She is now wearing a Fi GPS tracker, a martingale collar, and will be microchipped by her owners.

When a dog goes missing, many scammers that claim they are a legit drone company reach out. If the drone pilot is not by your side and you do not see the work they are doing. DO NOT PAY THEM!

If they are local and legit they will allow payment after the search is completed.

Who remembers Miss Emmie from Athens?

When she was left on a property with no resources and needing to fend for herself in the bitter cold of winter, she decided she needed to look for food and water off the property she was "protecting." She ventured away from the farm and into town. The community came together to assist with trapping her.

Once trapped, she was taken to Marathon County Humane Society and given the well deserved pampering she deserved and was in desperate need of.

As a senior gal, she has waited and wait for the perfect family to want to spend the rest of her days with them.
If you have never adopted a senior dog, DO IT!

Emmie, welcome to your happily ever after where you will be an inside dog and know the comforts you have never experienced.

There was another positive sighting this morning 6/23/26.
The trap and cameras have been moved to a location near the area.
She trotted away so she is getting more comfortable with the area.

As always IGNORE and call # immediately.

Try to keep eyes on her from inside a vehicle. Being on foot will make her run.

Michele got her!!

This gal has been secured and is headed back home!!!
Kudos to her owners for listening and being so dedicated in her recovery.

This gal is still running scared. If you know anyone near Harshaw/ Nose Lake area, PLEASE share this with them!

Michele Bushor is working on this gal. Trap is set, now we need her to find it and be hungry enough to go in. She is approximately 15miles away from where she went missing from!
