community we serve. More than 400 members enrich their lives and the lives of others through Connect, Serve and Lead opportunities. Our Vision: United Way Emerging Leaders of Marathon County seeks to spark and sustain young professionals to improve the community and themselves through connect, serve and lead opportunities. CONNECT
Emerging Leaders offers many opportunities to network with other members, community leaders and key business leaders. As a member you will receive invitations to Off the Record lunches, Back Stage Pass events and our signature Connect event – the annual Pop Up Dinner. SERVE
Through volunteer projects, members learn about local needs and do the hands-on work to make an impact. Teams of members do the research, plan the project and roll up their sleeves to get it done. Past projects include serving community meals, installing Born Learning Trails, reading/literacy activities in local kindergarten classrooms, and our signature projects – sMACk hunger AND say CHEESE and Career Closet. LEAD
There are many ways to increase your leadership skills as a member of Emerging Leaders. You can join a committee, chair a service project, or attend professional development events throughout the year. Our signature leadership development event is Ignite the Leader Within, held annually in the fall of the year.

Calling all talented Emerging Leaders! We have an opportunity to gain valuable experience by joining the Board of Directors this October.

The Board of Directors sets and implements strategic goals for our organization. This group meets the third Thursday of every month at 4:30 p.m. Each new board member serves a 27-month term and is also asked to join one of three teams - Connect, Serve or Lead.

If you are interested in serving on the Board, please submit a letter of interest (no more than 500 words) by September 13 to Jennifer Porath at [email protected].

This is an informal gathering where young locals can get to know each other. Stop by and get dinner, play a game of pool or grab a beverage and mingle!

The next book club will take place at The Great Dane on Tuesday, October 12 from 5:30pm - 6:30pm. The selected reading is Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance by Angela Duckworth.
