Good morning, MC 4-H families!

We are in Washington DC with 40 youth. Today we are at Arlington National Cemetery. Our group will be laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Our own Briah L will be representing MC 4-H in that Ceremony.

If you would like to watch our 4-H'ers lay the wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, it will livestream it on the Wood County 4-H, WI page at about 12:15 Eastern time.

Get ready for an afternoon of fun, family, and 4-H pride! Join us for our Marathon County 4-H Awards & Celebration on November 15th from 4–6 PM at the Marathon County 4-H Office / Conference Center.

🏆 We'll celebrate the accomplishments of our 4-H members and volunteers, with awards and recognition sprinkled between rounds of RAPID FIRE BINGO! 🎱⚡

• One adult club leader (or 4-H Volunteer)
• One youth club officer

🤝 An interactive club leadership workshop
💡 New ideas and skills you can take back to your club
🗣️ Time to share, ask questions, and connect with other club leaders

Recently, Kendra and Melissa led a retro chair workshop for youth and adults. We learned basic macrame and weaving skills to bring an old chair back to life. Most did not finish their chairs, but got a great start. Thank you Kendra and Melissa for sharing your spark!

We’ll be making a tote bag!

Bring:
• ½ yard of cotton fabric for the outside
• ½ yard of coordinating cotton fabric for the lining

Sewing machines will be provided, or bring your own if you have one!

Marathon County 4-H is excited to celebrate the creativity and talents of our youth through our first Youth Art Show, “4-H Creative Expressions: Sparks of Creativity!”

Youth artists were selected from the entries submitted to participate in this special exhibit. Their artwork showcases a variety of creative interests, perspectives, and sparks.

The artwork will be on display throughout October at the UW Center for Civic Engagement, 625 Stewart Ave., Wausau. The gallery can be viewed during community events held at the theater, providing an opportunity for community members to enjoy the talents of our young artists.

A special reception was held on October 2nd to celebrate the participating youth, their families, and their accomplishments. The Marathon County 4-H Leaders Federation supported the event by providing snacks and beverages for the reception.

Congratulations to our talented youth artists! We are proud of the creativity, courage, and individuality they shared with our community.
