The EquiFlow outreach team had a full April out in the community!

The team connected with residents at the Wausau Hmong 50 Year Celebration, the Week of the Young Child at Monk Botanical Gardens, and the Healthy Kids Day at the YMCA.

Healthy Kids Day brought in tons of families and also served as a tornado relief resource drive, with attendees donating truckloads of supplies. It was a great reminder of how Wausau shows up for one another!

Construction kicked off on April 13, and we're already seeing great progress across Wausau! 🚧

Two crews, Five Star Energy Services and A-1 Excavating, are working simultaneously in different areas and have replaced 62 lead service lines to date. Much of the work so far has been in areas with heavier aggregate ground material, which requires additional planning and precision.

We look forward to continuing the momentum into May as we work toward a lead-free Wausau! 💧

Great news for Wausau residents! The City Council has reaffirmed its commitment to the EquiFlow program, and the work is continuing to move forward!

Two seasons in, 2,139 lead service lines have been replaced across the city, and crews are already back out there this spring continuing that work. With funding officially secured for 2026, the team is on track to replace 1,274 more lines this season. Every replacement brings Wausau one step closer to a lead-free future for every resident.
