Bridge Clinic Community Gardens

Bridge Clinic Community Gardens This program offers rentable garden plots for urban gardening. The Bridge Clinic Community Gardens currently has three locations.

Plots are available by application each spring and a sliding fee discount program is offered for those who qualify. Emerging Gardens: located at the corner of N 2nd St and DeKalb St

This garden is our biggest project to date, and is a collaborative project with the Emerging Leaders group from United Way of Marathon County. Construction of 35 raised beds took place in mid June, 2013. A HUGE THANK

YOU to all the volunteers that helped out - we couldn't have done it without each and every one of you! Each bed is 12ft x 12ft, providing ample growing space for our gardeners.

2. East Towne Community Garden: Jefferson St

East Towne Community Garden, on Wausau's east side, was constructed on June 12, 2012 and covers an area of 60ft x 115ft which allows for the building of 14 raised beds. A 6ft fence is erected around the perimeter of the garden to help with critter control. A medium size shed is on site for the safe keeping of the garden tools and supplies. Out of the 14 raised beds, four are reserved as community plots where harvest will be donated to the Neighbor's Place and Marathon County Hunger Coalition. All ten plots have been rented out to community members who are already planting and growing their own fruits and vegetables.

3. Bridge Clinic Community Garden

This garden is our newest addition, and adds an additional 17 beds to the program's scope. With vertical gardening, wheelchair accessible walkways, and decorative flags, this garden aims to be an open, inviting space for all community members to enjoy!

Come see us at the farmers market,Look for the orange Hunger coalition donation flag this Saturday from 11:30am to 1pm will we will be participating in the Gleaning project share the harvest, we will be collecting donations of produce that will be distributed to Riverview Towers, over 600 pounds has been donated from the farmers market this year so far!
