The Law Enforcement Appreciation Project (LEAP) will distribute approximately 320 gift cards, reaching law enforcement officers and emergency communications personnel across Marathon County in its second gift card disbursement of 2025—continuing LEAP’s year-round appreciation efforts to show tangible community support for those who serve.
The distribution takes place at the close of the holiday season, a period when law enforcement officers and emergency dispatchers often face longer hours and increased call volume.
Gift cards will be provided to deputies with the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office, patrol officers across community departments—including Athens, Edgar, Everest Metro, Kronenwetter, Marathon City, Mosinee, Rothschild, Spencer, Stratford, and Wausau—as well as Marathon County 911 emergency dispatchers.
The presentation will take place Monday, December 29, 2025 at 12:30pm in the Sheet's Memorial Room at the Marathon County Courthouse.
“This is about showing officers and dispatchers their community sees them and appreciates the work they do every day,” said Dan Krcma, President of LEAP. “This second distribution lets us extend that gratitude to the 911 professionals who are often the first first-responders. With continued community support, we hope to expand this effort even further.”
