First and foremost, there have been several people asking who organized this event and for the purpose of transparency I would like for everyone to know that this is Kyote Dunn.

I was asked by several members of the community to host a neutral and unbiased event—and to be honest, I really didn’t want to, however, I truly believe that the citizens of Jefferson Co. as well as both candidates involved, deserve to have the ability to campaign in such an atmosphere. I feel like both candidates, as well as ALL citizens of the county, stood to benefit from this and I am happy that we were able to get it planned and produced within a short period of time.

Thank you to everyone who viewed last night’s event--I am very pleased with the entire event and I am happy with both candidates not only for attending, but also for conducting themselves in a respectful and professional manner throughout the event.

I know some of you may have disagreements with how this event was produced, and that is perfectly fine--it’s okay to disagree.

This event was the epitome of respect, professionalism and coordination, which is exactly how I wanted it to be.

I firmly believe that this was the best option to get quality information to the citizens of Jefferson Co. in a semi-controlled environment--and I honestly believe that we accomplished just that--and on short notice!

This event required a TON of "behind the scenes" help and without these people--it wouldn't have been possible.

To broadcast this event, we utilized multiple 4K cameras, computers, control boards, Tri-casters--and whatever else I am forgetting--and to my knowledge, the only technical issue was volume which was corrected as best as possible—That sounds like an overall success to me!

So personally, I would like to say thank you to these people who came together in order to help me make this event possible, I most definitely wouldn’t have been able to do it without their help!

In ending I would like everyone to remember one thing…it is OKAY to disagree, that’s part of life--but I implore each and every person to remain courteous and respectful during a time where anger and even hatred are a huge aspect within the political atmosphere.
It’s okay to believe that “your” candidate is the best option, and yes, it’s also okay to even dislike one candidate or another but it is absolutely unacceptable to conduct oneself in such a manner that breeds dissent and anger amongst the citizens of Jefferson Co.

We, as a county, should come together and stay above the fray!

Thanks again to everyone who took time to view this event and THANK YOU to every single person that took time from their busy schedules to help make this event happen!

-Kyote
