Waupaca Area Model Railroaders

Waupaca Area Model Railroaders Since its inception the club has been involved in cultural, historical, and other educational activities.

In 1988 the club constructed a portable modular layout which has traveled to NMRA (National Model Railroad Association) national conventions (four times) and midwest and local model railroad shows promoting model railroading as a great family activity. In recognition of its activities, the IRS granted the club a (501(c)3 educational entirity in 1993.

Summer is starting to wind down, which means we’ll back to train show season very soon. The next train show our portable layout will be displayed at is the Marshfield show. Show will take place October 17-18.

Set up is well underway at the car show grounds in Iola and it is a busy Wednesday here.

Come see us and the Hub City Model Railroad Club at the annual Iola Car Show and Swap Meet inside the Jim Payton Hobby Room located within the Convention Center this coming Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 8am to 5pm. You will see multiple layouts in O, HO, and N Scales along with hundreds of model cars, tanks, boats, and vintage Tonka Toys on display. You can also view and purchase our clubs exclusive Iola & Northern 40' Boxcar. Come see us in Iola!! 🚂🚃🚃🚃

We're here at the Strawberry Fest Model Railroad Swap Meet until 3pm today and we have almost 300 people in the door already!!! Come out and see some trains!!! 🚂🚃🚃🚃

Also, come out and see Ron McBride from the Hub City Model Railroad Club selling his delicious Jam, Jellies, Maple Syrups, and Popcorn!!

Today is the day. We are here at our annual one day Strawberry Fest Model Railroad Show & Swap Meet at the Waupaca Rec Center.

Hours are 9-3 today. $3 for single admission or $5 for the whole family. We got good food serving up as well. Come on down to Waupaca to our show.

We would like to extend sincere thanks to Tara Pionkowski-Perz and her entire kitchen crew for the wonderful pizza dinner they provided for everyone down at the Rec Center. The pizza was delicious and we are always more than happy to support a locally owned business. Thank you Tara!!!

We won't be serving leftover pizza to anyone who comes through the door but from 9am to 3pm, please come to the Strawberry Fest Model Railroad Swap Meet being held at the Rec Center with 80 sales tables of trains!!! 🚂🚃🚃🚃 When you get hungry, don't expect refrigerated pizza, you can have the choice of Sloppy Joe, Hot Ham & Cheese, or a Beer Brat for only $5.00 each and for $4.00, finish your meal with homemade Strawberry Shortcake with Strawberries provided by Turners Fresh Market

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Turners Fresh Market for supplying our upcoming Strawberry Fest Model Railroad Swap Meet with 30 pounds of fresh Strawberries!! These will be used to make our homemade Strawberry Shortcake that we will be selling at the event for $4.00 a serving. Nothing beats farm fresh and local strawberries!! 🍓

The next two weekends will be busy for us. This Saturday (June 20) is our annual Strawberry Fest show right here in Waupaca. Setup will begin on Friday. Our layout will be displayed and we are expecting cooler temperatures compared to last year. This year, the food stand will have BBQ/sloppy joes, brats and ham sandwiches to choose from.

Next weekend, our portable layout will be on display at the Trains Games and Automobiles show at the Community Rec Center in Marinette. This is a two day show and the building has AC should it get warm up north.

Flyers for both shows are attached. We’ll see you either in Waupaca or Marinette (or both).
