The 153rd County Fair has come to a close. Saturday was the Goat Show and the Fun Show (exhibitors show a species they don't typically show).

Mrs Magdanz was the guest local celebrity judge for the swine, sheep & goat Fun Show. She was also top showman for the adult sheep show! She hasn't lost her sheep showing skills yet!

Huge Congratulations goes out to Rylee, The 2026 Waupaca County Fair Premier Exhibitor! She earned that by scoring highest on a combination of an all species written examination, showmanship score & fun show score.

Another great day at fair. Proud of all of our beef, swine & poultry exhibitors who had shows yesterday! Heres a few highlights....
*Morgan-Grand Champion on her creative writing!

*Mallory-Grand Champion Dairy Steer & Top Intermediate beef showman

So proud of the hard work and dedication of all our exhibitors. Our exhibitors are showing us that sometimes the best classrooms aren't always behind 4 walls. They learn so much with the judges reasoning. Sometimes they get Grands but many times (and perhaps more so often) they don't do as well as they hoped and we learn from that as well. Most importantly we try to teach them to to lose gracefully, win humbly, and do both with dignity.

We are in full on Fair Mode! Set up & all entries in. Up at the Crack of Dawn with a few hours of sleep all week. Exhausted by the end of everyday. Still one of the best weeks of the year 💙💛

Sheep Show & Rabbit Show are done. Some highlightes: Morgan got Best of Breed with Bonnie!. Mallory earned Grand Champion Breeding Ewe. Rylee earned Top Rabbit Senior Showman and was also crowned Fairest. Lots of blues and lots of Tops of Classes all around.

Today (Thursday) @ 8:30 am is the Beef show & Poultry show then 12:30 swine show.

🐑EXHIBITOR SPOTLIGHT: We are so proud of the hard work, dedication, and countless hours our fair exhibitors put into their projects.Today we recognize our sheep exhibitors: Olivia, Mallory, Emma & Rylee.

Some of the lambs they are raising are markets and some are breeding stock. The sheep show will be on Wednesday at 9:30am. The breeding stock will be in the crossbred ewe clas and the markets will be in the market lambs class.

Market lambs that weigh in between 100 and 160 lbs are eligible for the Large Market Animal Sale. If you would like quality, locally grown lamb come bid at the market sale on Friday at 5:30 and support these members projects.

🚨FAIR UPDATE🚨
There will be no horses or horse show at the 2026 Waupaca County Fair due to possible exposure and to prevent further spread of strangles in Wisconsin Equine.

Thank you Katie & Cadence for representing Waupaca FFA as a horse exhibitor. Hopeful for a possible reschedule of the horse show in October.

🐐 EXHIBITOR SPOTLIGHT: Today we recognize our goat exhibitors: Matthew, Logan, Katie, Cadence, & Rylee. There are 2 goat shows at the fair. Wednesday morning at 9am is the market goat show. Market goats are judged early so they are placed before the market sale.

Did you know that goat meat is called chevan? If you would like to support our exhibitors and purchase a goat, the goats are sold on the Small Market Sale, which is after the large market on Friday night.

Another fun fact: soaps, lotion, cheese and many other products are made from goat milk. Goat cheese is quit tasty and you can purchase many flavors from most grocery stores. The rest of the goat show is Saturday morning where you can watch the breed show.

🐇 EXHIBITOR SPOTLIGHT: Today we recognize our rabbit exhibitors: Morgan, Rylee, Blake & Logan. Do you recognize Bonnie, the Flemish Giant, and Rufus, the Mini Lop, from the ag room? The rabbits will be shown in their breed classes, except Rufus. He has 1 toe nail that is off colored which disqualifies him from the breed class, so he will be in the pet rabbit class. Judges have very strict guidelines to follow for rabbit breeds. Stop in the Rabbit & Poultry barn to see these rabbits.

We spent the morning at Waushara County Fair today. Blake is showing both beef and swine. He took Reserve Champion Gilt!

His beef show is tomorrow night at 5pm. He will be selling Saturday at the Market Animal Sale where he would appreciate it if you would throw in a bid or two on his locally raised beef and pork.

We are both proud of Blake for his hard work and dedication to raising some awesome looking market hogs! We look foreward to hearing how the beef show goes. He did a fantastic job!

🐂 EXHIBITOR SPOTLIGHT: Today we recognize our beef exhibitors: Olivia and Mallory. Both of the girls each have a small cattle herd of their own consisting of market dairy steers, a cow/calf pair, and a couple heifers. They will both bring a market dairy steer and Mallory is bringing a couple of her heifers to fair.

The beef show is one week from today, Thursday morning at 8:30. If you would like to support their project you can attend the Market Sale Friday night at 5:30 and throw in a bid or 2 on some quality, locally raised beef.

Proud of the girls for representing the Waupaca FFA as our beef exhibitors, and proud of them for the hard work and dedication it takes to train and work with cattle. Good Luck!
