Congratulations to our WMEA President-Elect Marcy Russell! 🎶

We are beyond thrilled to announce that our very own Ms. Russell has been named the President-Elect for the Wisconsin Music Educators Association (WMEA)! ❤️🤍

While we’ve always known how lucky we are to have such an incredible leader in our middle school choir room, it’s wonderful to see that the entire state of Wisconsin recognizes it, too. This is a massive honor and a testament to Marcy's dedication to music education and our students. 🎼

Important information as advocating for all students to have access to to a well-rounded education inclusive of music is essential now more than ever.

Are you looking for succinct talking points to use in your advocacy at the local and state levels with local and state elected officials to urge them to support music education?

Thanks to generous support from The Music Man Foundation and CMA Foundation, NAfME is proud to present a new toolkit designed to help advocates nationwide push for change in their states. https://bit.ly/MAESTRO-Act

Included in this toolkit is a flyer illustrating “Why Music Education Is Important”. These talking points, designed for promoting state-level legislation, can also be used in remarks and communications to elected officials at all levels to promote support for music education funding and scheduling. It includes citations for further information. Share this resource with fellow advocates!

And for planning at the local level, use this Local Advocacy Action Plan to strategically meet needs in your school district: https://nafme.org/resource/local-advocacy-action-plan/

Thank you to everyone who is sounding the alarm to support music and arts education!
