Our hearts are full. We had over 20 families and individuals nominated to receive a little help this holiday season. After sharing the post, someone also reached out with a cash donation to support the effort.

We are able to help out 5 different individuals/families. We will be getting in contact with those people shortly.

This community continues to amaze us. Thank you for helping us carry on Matt’s legacy of giving. Wishing you all a happy and peaceful holiday season. 🎄

🎄 Holiday Help Needed — Nominate a Family or Individual 🎄

Each year, we orgaize the Matt Sweeney Memorial Ride, raising funds to support Ronald McDonald House Charities, our local EMS, and families in our community who are going through a difficult season.

With Christmas just a week away, we’d love to help make the holidays a little less stressful for someone who may be struggling right now. If you know an individual or family who could use a little extra support this holiday season, we invite you to nominate them for this $1000 cash giveaway.

✨ Nominations can be completely anonymous, and recipients may remain anonymous as well.

If you were around Waukon or the surrounding area on August 3rd, you may have seen a lot of bikes and old cars/trucks. You may have heard a lot of noise & perhaps even seen a burnout or two.

It was so much more than that tho. It was community showing up for each other. It was friends and family of a legend making new memories . It was remembering Matt and supporting a cause that was near to his heart.

The proceeds from the ride benefit Ronald McDonald House (RMHC), local EMS, and thru out the year donations are made to local individuals and families in need. We had the honor of dropping off tabs that have been collected from all those that have donated. The staff at Ronald McDonald house recognize us now when we pull up. They know Matt’s story and they are always so grateful. Angela at RMHC made sure to tell us to extend their appreciation to all those in the community to continue to show such support.

Even if you only save a coffee cup full of tabs, just know that you are making a difference. Because everyone’s container full of tabs added up to all this. 6 boxes, 3 totes and 1 bag filling the back of a Jeep Cherokee. It’s an incredible experience to be a part of.

When we first had the idea to get some people together to ride and remember Matt, we had no idea it would turn into this. Matt left such a huge mark in so many people’s lives and that impact continues on today.

Tomorrow is the day and you don't want to miss out! Registration starts at 9:30 at Village Farm & Home in Waukon. We plan to leave Village at 11:00. Every rider must register and sign liability waiver prior to departing. The cost for the ride is $10/rider. If you are wanting to ride the bus there is still room. The bus cost is an additional $5. If you are riding the bus and would like your vehicle to be at Green Valley for the end of the ride, you can meet the bus down at Green Valley at 10:00 tomorrow morning and they will give you a ride to Village Farm & Home.

We do have can koozies available for sale during registration. We do not have stickers or extra tshirts available. If there is interest in ordering additional shirts, we can open up the Epic Wear store link after the ride so people can order more shirts.

The stops along the ride only accept cash. There will be a meal offered at the second stop, $10/plate. When we get back to Green Valley following the ride, there will be a meal available, free will donation. We will have 50/50 raffle drawing, card raffle drawing for a hat, live auction, door prizes, handing out awards and DJ until 8PM.

-White Haus (next door to Green Valley) is allowing us to use their parking lot on Sunday.

-The ride will happen rain or shine. The forecast for tomorrow looks gorgeous--fingers crossed that it stays this way!
