Props to Waukon's own Tyler O'Neill and his successful healthcare career!

Meet Tyler

Tyler is a Flight Nurse at AirCare 4 in Davenport. Born and raised in Waukon in the far northeast corner of Iowa, he makes frequent trips back to visit family and friends. Tyler currently resides in Mt. Vernon with his beautiful wife Kaia where she is a middle school science teacher. Their family includes a 2 year old doodle named Ozzy and a 10 month old son, Wesley. Tyler says “they make quite a pair and keep us on our toes!” In his free time Tyler’s hobbies include hunting, fishing, bowling and officiating high school football and basketball.

National EMS Week is from May 18th to May 24th. The theme for this year is "We Care. For Everyone."

Waukon EMS Association is so very grateful for ALL EMS providers working together to care for those in need. It is a 24/7 job that extends far beyond the traditional walls of a "job". EMS, no matter what your level, is a way of life. To all the dedicated EMS providers out there; we see and appreciate you! Enjoy a week in your honor for all you give back to the way of life!

On April 22, 2025 area EMS, Fire, & Law Enforcement, along with MANY other volunteers coordinated a distracted driving MVA simulation for Waukon High School students to witness. The event was very impactful for everyone involved.
