Hi FB family! We have taken in quite a few dogs recently and vetting has been expensive and we are getting low on funds. We also know that budgets are tight for everyone, but even small donations help. Today we are starting an auction! If you'd rather send a donation, we welcome those. We have updated our website and monetary donations can be made by clicking on the donate button. https://www.wisconsinbostonterrierrescue.com/
Auction rules: write your bid in the comments of the individual picture for the item you want. The winning bid for each item will be contacted by DM after the auction closes June 1 at 8am. Once the winning bid is contacted, they will pay via the donation link and we will get your items in the mail. Do you know someone that loves Boston's? Remember this would make great house warming gifts, look great in a dorm room or get an early start on Christmas!

Bruno is an incredibly sweet 7 year old, 25lb female Boston looking for her forever home. Despite her past being used as a breeder dog she is very loving, trusting, kind and gentle! Bruno just wants to be with her people - and she's good with all ages. Want to run errands? She will jump in your car and chill in the back seat. Soccer game? Will gladly watch from your lap. Hike? Her foster mom took her on a 3 mile hike and she loved it. Rainy day? Bruno will curl up next to you. Working from home? She can be your accountability buddy sleeping next to you in her crate. She's an excellent leash walker and crate trained.

Bruno does have moderate separation anxiety, but is ok for 4-6 hours when left in a crate with a treat. She will need that crate when you're not home though - and would love a family where her people are around a lot.

Bruno gets along well with cats, birds and other dogs, and would love to share a home with another calm dog, or will do well as the only dog. She tends to jump up onto new bigger dogs she meets. She hasn't figured out toys other than chewy sticks yet, but another dog may help her learn.

Bruno is spayed and vaccinated, and while she does have an old injury to her pelvis that affects her gate, she gets around just fine and isn't expected to need further treatment for that. Her adoption fee is $400, and you can find more information on the adoption process and a link to the application form on our website at https://www.wisconsinbostonterrierrescue.com/adopt. Please email [email protected] with any questions.

We have a new Puppy Mill Mamma that just got released. She will be making her way to rescue this weekend. We are hoping to get her everything she needs to decompress and adjust to her new life. We don't have a picture just yet as we haven't seen her ourselves yet. This is typical, we don't know anything more than age and gender. This lady is 6 almost 7 years old and a female, poor girl, that is a long time living in terrible mill cages. As soon as we get her to her foster mom, we will post a picture of our little surprise.
Please help welcome our May Mill Mamma by sending something from her Wishlist. Thank you!!

**Adopted!**

Lucy (aka Lu) is a 25lb, 6 year old Boston Terrier with a big personality. Lu will make you laugh everyday. She is great with people but lacks kid experience , so kids in the home should be 6+. While Lu loves the dogs in her pack, she can be very selective with new dog friends. She would do great in an only dog household, but may be ok with an easy going friend who will let her be in charge.

Lu is a former breeding dog, but loves people, loves going out on adventures and doesn't show fear towards new things. She has an "I'm the Boss" personality. She is good with submissive dogs (she and her foster sister play all the time), but will need practice meeting other dogs politely and staying calm seeing other dogs in public out on walks.

Lu loves toys and will happily empty a whole toy box into her bed to entertain herself. She will also chase a tennis ball if another dog is playing too. Lu loves to cuddle and sleep with her person- she is very affectionate. She's known for sneak love attacks to your face.

Lu is mostly housebroken and used to staying home alone behind a gate for up to 5 hours without problem. As long as you can keep her on leash and work on her manners, a fence isn't required. She will be spayed this week and we'll begin accepting applications while she recovers.

Lu's adoption fee is $400. You can find more information on the adoption process and a link to the application form on our website at www.wisconsinbostonterrierrescue.com. Please email [email protected] with any questions.

Happy is a 27lb, 1 year old female Boston mix (we're not sure with what, but she's not too big and looks mostly Boston!). She is very outgoing and loves everyone she meets. Since she does jump and has little experience with children, any in her forever home should be at least 6. She is good with other dogs and loves to go on adventures.

Happy loves to play fetch go on long walks and chew on sticks and roll around in the backyard. She can be a major leash puller, especially when she sees squirrels, so she will need some basic training to be easier to walk. As long as you're willing to keep her on leash and work on that, a fence isn't required, although she'd certainly enjoy a fenced yard.

Happy is use to staying in a crate and is used to staying home for up to 5 hours at a time. She is mostly housebroken but will need continued reinforcement. Given the ongoing house training, she does need that midday break if you work away from home. While she has plenty of energy to play, she loves to cuddle and spend quiet time with her person.

Happy does have a sensitive stomach, and her adopter may need to keep her on special food or continuing working with a vet to find something that works for her. She's been spayed and vaccinated and is otherwise healthy. Her adoption fee is $400. Welcome Misty Blue to WBTR. Misty Blue is 6 yrs old and just released from the puppy mill. Her life a breeding factory is finally over, and she is embracing her new freedom and really loves being loved. She could use a few items to help her transition to pet life. **Adopted**

Firecracker is a 6 yr old, 21 #, red and white Boston Terrier. He spent the first 6 years in a puppy mill as a breeder. Even through all that he is a sweet, docile, gentle, fun little guy to be around. He's good with all the other dogs in his foster home, and while he hasn't met cats, he'd likely be fine. Any children in his home should be 6+ as he has limited experience with kids and jumps, but older kids should be fine - he loves all the people he's met and greets everyone with enthusiasm! Firecracker will also require a fenced yard.

Firecracker has a lot of nicknames! S.W. Firecracker, Wizzy, Smiley,Rusty and he responds to all! He loves to snuggle and be close to people. He will follow you everywhere. He loves chasing balls and playing tug with the rope toys. He empties the toy bins daily, and he also likes to just chill and get pets.

Firecracker's family also needs to be willing to continue working on his tendency to bolt out of the door and take measures to keep him safe while he learns to wait. A harness and a long lead is suggested at first, and/or extra gates around the door area. Leash training is a work in progress, and right now walks can be challenging as he pulls on the leash when he sees other dogs. Obedience training is suggested. Between the bolting and ongoing leash work, he will also need a fenced yard. He loves to run and chase squirrels with his new friends!

Firecracker does mark and is learning to potty outside.Potty training is ongoing, and a bellyband is suggested. Given his ongoing potty training, if you work outside the home he'll need a midday potty break at lunch or with a dog walker. He is crate trained and sleeps in his crate, but you also need to watch out for his tendency to steal interesting household items and hide them in his crate.

Firecracker is neutered and vaccinated, and his adoption fee is $400. Please see our website at www.wisconsinbostonterrierrescue.com for more information on the adoption process and a link to the application form. (Note that sometimes if you click through from Facebook there is an issue with the application; if you have trouble please try another browser or see the comments for a direct link to the form.)
