We always love sharing opportunities to learn from our friend Jim Santelle.

If you’ve ever found yourself wondering, “What did the Supreme Court actually decide this year?”—this is for you.

Jim has a gift for breaking down complicated court cases in a way that’s engaging, understandable, and accessible, no matter your background. This year’s program will cover many of the biggest decisions from the Court’s 2025–2026 term, including cases on birthright citizenship, immigration, voting rights, presidential power, free speech, and more.

The discussion is split into two unique sessions on Thursday, July 23 and Thursday, July 30 at 6:00 PM in the Firefly Room at the Wauwatosa Public Library. Attend one or both, each session covers different cases and constitutional themes.

Jim has been a trusted educator and friend of Blue Sky for years, and we know you’ll walk away with a better understanding of how these decisions impact all of us. We hope to see you there! 🇺🇸⚖️

Today, the U.S. Supreme Court reaffirmed that birthright citizenship is protected by the 14th Amendment, rejecting an effort to strip citizenship from children born on American soil.

The fact that this even reached the Supreme Court should concern all of us.

Constitutional rights should never hinge on politics or who happens to be in power. Today’s ruling protects a principle that has stood for more than a century, but it’s also a reminder that rights we assume are settled can still come under attack.

Stay engaged. Stay informed. Democracy only works when we defend it.

Wisconsin is known for its incredible parks, trails, lakes, forests, and outdoor spaces. That's why today's news is so disappointing.

Tomorrow, the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program will officially run out of funding after the Legislature failed to reauthorize it.

For decades, this bipartisan program, named after Republican Gov. Warren Knowles and Democratic Gov. Ga***rd Nelson, helped protect Wisconsin's natural treasures and funded improvements like trails, boat launches, park bathrooms, and conservation projects in communities across our state.

This shouldn't be a partisan issue. Whether you love hiking, fishing, hunting, kayaking, birdwatching, or simply taking a walk through your local park, these are the places that make Wisconsin feel like home.

Without renewed funding, communities will lose a critical source of support for local parks and recreation projects, and future conservation efforts are now in jeopardy.

No matter where you live or how you vote, protecting the places we all enjoy is something worth fighting for. We hope lawmakers come back to the table and restore this important program.

Democracy works best when voters show up informed!!

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the AD-13 candidate forum! A huge thank you to David Sanchez (David Sanchez for Assembly) and Amy Zimmerman (Amy Zimmerman for Assembly) for sharing their vision with voters, and to CelticMKE for hosting us.

Assembly District 13 includes parts of Brookfield and Wauwatosa, along with all of Elm Grove. With Rep. Robyn Vining running for State Senate this fall, we’ll be electing a new representative this year. Because AD-13 is a strongly Democratic district, the winner of the August 11 primary is likely to become our next State Representative in November.

This year’s primary ballot also includes important statewide races for Governor and State Treasurer, so now is the perfect time to start researching the candidates! You can check them all out on our website

Take a few minutes to check your voter registration, make a plan to vote, and learn about the people asking for your vote.

Thank you State Representative Robyn Vining for coming out to the forum today and all the great work you’ve done in this seat. We look forward to seeing who steps into this role in November!

Big turnout tonight for the Democratic primary forum with Amy Zimmerman and David Sanchez for Assembly . This district (that I currently represent) is very likely to be held by Democrats in November, so this primary is likely what will decide who will represent the 13th Assembly District in the next legislative session. Thanks to hosts Blue Sky Waukesha County 💙

State Assembly 13 Democratic Primary Forum LIVE featuring David Sanchez for Assembly and Amy Zimmerman for Assembly. Moderated by Tom Palzewicz, hosted by Blue Sky Waukesha.

Wisconsin State Assmebly District 13 includes parts of Brookfield and Wauwatosa, and all of Elm Grove. The district is currently represented by Democrat Robyn Vining who is running for State Senate. With the district being a strong den lean seat, whoever wins the Democratic primary will most likely be the next State Representative.

60 days until the Wisconsin Primary Election.

Who’s ready?!?

In Waukesha County, we will have three important primary races on the ballot.

The first is a crowded Democratic primary for Governor, where voters will help decide who takes on the Republican nominee this November. We’ll also have a Democratic primary for State Treasurer, and voters in Assembly District 13 will choose between two Democratic candidates seeking to represent parts of Wauwatosa, Brookfield, and all of Elm Grove.

Now is the perfect time to start learning about the candidates, following their campaigns on social media (see the tags on this post!), and making a plan to vote.

August 11 will be here before we know it.
