The Okoa Toto children were excited to go back to school. They have been back in school for a little while now and are having a good start to the year. This year, Ramsey joined Brightson at St. Peter's Mumias Boys' High School! We are thrilled that they can continue their educational journey together.

Join us in congratulating Joy! For the second year in a row, Joy emerged as the best in the local musical festival (representing the school at the sub-county and county level). She will be joining the school team to perform at the regional level next month. Way to go, Joy!

This week, Brightson had the opportunity to go on a school trip to Kisumu for a history academic excursion. The students visited the Kit Mikayi Cultural Centre, the Kisumu Airport, the Kenya Ports Authority, and the Kisumu Museum.

Recently Okoa Toto had their annual birthday celebration for all of the children. The children enjoyed the party and were excited to receive jerseys, shirts, Kinder Joys, and drawing books.

Please join us in welcoming two new members to the Okoa Toto family! Joan will serve as the new cook at Okoa Toto, replacing Edith who had served as the cook/social worker for the last 5 years. Laura has been a long-time supporter of Okoa Toto and has now joined our Board of Directors! Laura has replaced Patsy, who had to step down for personal reasons but continues to support the Okoa Toto mission.

Welcome Joan and Laura! We are thrilled to have you both! And thank you to Edith and Patsy for your time, efforts and dedication to Okoa Toto over the last several years! You will both be greatly missed.
