PADS is the first point of contact for the homeless in Lake County and often the only hope for someone facing a long night in the harsh cold or blistering heat. We serve individuals, families with children, the mentally ill, and veterans regardless of their reason for being homeless by providing vital services, such as emergency shelter, permanent supportive housing, street outreach, and social services. We understand and care about improving local hardships for individuals and the Lake County community. PADS partners with Lake County businesses, houses of worship and social service agencies to fulfill our mission to help the homeless get into stable housing.

Not all abuse leaves visible marks. And leaving an abusive situation doesn't guarantee a safe place to go.

Finding safe, affordable housing can be one of the biggest challenges survivors face when leaving an abusive relationship. Without somewhere safe to live, starting over can be even harder.

This Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we're recognizing the role housing plays in helping survivors find safety and stability.

Housing instability is part of a person’s story, but it's never the whole story.

People carry their culture, language, traditions, relationships, and dreams through every chapter of their lives.

This Hispanic Heritage Month, we’re recognizing the stories that make up our community and the importance of having a stable place to call home.

At PADS, we help people move from housing crisis toward stability so they can focus on what comes next: building a life, staying connected, and moving forward.

Families have officially begun moving into Pathways, and last week, they shared their first meals in their new home!

To welcome our neighbors as they settled in, United Protestant Church of Grayslake and Church of St. Mary :: Lake Forest, IL each provided a hot meal for nearly 60 people, more than half of whom were children.

Families enjoyed comfort food including meatballs, mac and cheese, and chicken, along with fruits, vegetables, and delicious homemade desserts. Extras were set aside so families arriving later could still enjoy a meal or have something available for a late-night snack.

We’re deeply grateful to these community partners for helping make Pathways a welcoming place from the very beginning. Every meal helps families feel at home as they take their next steps toward stable housing.
