Lake Council #121 Cryptic Masons

Lake Council #121 Cryptic Masons This page is the official page of the Lake Council #121. There will be regular posts here about even Freemasonry never attempts to alter any one’s beliefs.

No rite of Freemasonry has come into its own so much as the series of degrees known as the Cryptic Rite, also known as the Cryptic Masons. Its popularity is well deserved for there are no more beautiful or meaningful degrees in all Freemasonry that those conferred in the Council of Cryptic Masons. One reason for its popularity is that it completes a story, a Masonic allegory. Freemasonry is very p

hilosophical and teaches its ideals by allegory or story. This philosophy is moralistic and religious however Freemasonry is not a religion., nor a substitute for one. A requirement for membership in Freemasonry is a professed belief in God and eternal life. It is mandatory that a man profess a personal faith in a Supreme Being prior to becoming a Freemason. Freemasonry offers no theology or plan of salvation. However, it does offer a moral plan to use in this world. Leaving the Mason to look to his religion for salvation into the next world. Ancient Cryptic Masonry centers around the story of the preservation, loss and recovery of the Word. The Word represents man’s search for life’s purpose and the nature of GOD. Symbolic Freemasonry, as in the Lodge, teaches of the loss of the Word and hope for its recovery. Royal Arch Masonry, as in the Chapter, teaches its recovery. Cryptic Masonry, as in the Council, completes this story by teaching of the Word’s initial preservation. The Degrees

Companions,

I wanted to share with you the pride I feel for every one of our Illinois Councils.
Every where I travel, I see companions doing excellent degree work and striving to bring in new members.
At this point we have greeted 50 new council members and we already have more Council degrees scheduled!!
Thank every one of you for your dedication and know that the Grand Council Line has your back. If you have upcoming Royal and Select degrees, let me know and I will be there.
I feel this is just the tip of the Iceberg, together we can bring Illinois York Rite back into its prime.

Companions,
With the Christmas season upon us I want to take the time to send out this special message.
First, I would like to thank each of you for all the work that has been done this year. With your help we have greeted 43 new council members since August 1 and the future of Illinois York Rite Looks very bright.
But most importantly, I would like to remind each of you to take time to enjoy your friends and family. I pray this season brings you nothing but joy and love. Let us remember to be kind to our fellow brothers and lend a helping hand anytime you can. Your time, your compassion, and your efforts can make such a difference to someone struggling or in despair. Just the fact you show care and concern can make all the difference in the world to someone who needs it.
In closing, always remember the reason we celebrate Christmas! God bless each and everyone of you and I look forward to seeing you again this upcoming year.
