This Sunday, August 16th, join Three Brothers Theatre for an adult Playwrighting Workshop! You have a story to tell and they will help you tell it. This is a two hour basics of playwrighting workshop. You are welcome to bring something you are already working on or start fresh! 1pm-3pm, $25, 221 N. Genesee Street.

Coming Sunday....The Playwrighting Workshop, you have a story to tell and we'll help you tell it. Join us for this two hour workshop on the basics of playwrighting. If you have something you're already working on then bring that with and we'll talk through it together.

You are all invited to the Waukegan Art Council's August FREE exhibit! Join us at the Jack Benny Center in Bowen Park, the exhibit will be available until August 31.

Hours are Monday through Thursday from 3 PM till 8 PM, as well as Saturdays from 9 AM till noon. There will also be a reception on August 27 from 5 pm till 7 pm! We hope to see you there!

Waukegan's own Eleanor Taylor Bland will be inducted into the Chicago Literary Hall of Fame this Saturday, August 1st at 2pm at Woodson Regional Library. Bland was a prolific writer who lived much of her life in Waukegan. She wrote 16 detective novels featuring Marti MacAlistor and set in the fictional small town of Lincoln Prairie, Illinois which was loosely based on Waukegan. Bland also sat on the Waukegan Public Library board as well as chairing the Friends of the Public Library for a time and mentored several other authors while serving as President of the Sisters in Crime writing group.
