Sweet story alert! Mr. Craig, one of our District shuttle drivers, got to know Woodland Hills Elementary second grader Manny through their daily rides to school. Along the way, he learned that Manny didn’t have a bike for the summer and that his family wasn't in a position to purchase one.

Wanting to help, Mr. Craig went to Principal Shumaker, who connected with the Waukee Community Schools Foundation. During the last week of school, Mr. Craig surprised Manny with a brand-new bike, helmet, and bike lock.

Thank you to Mr. Craig, the Foundation, and the Woodland Hills team for making this special moment possible! This is what community looks like. 🚲

This meaningful flavor was created by the family who won our “Name a Flavor” auction at this year's Waukee Community Schools Foundation gala! They created this flavor as an ode to Dr. Brad Buck, the Waukee school district superintendent who is retiring this year. They combined his favorite things: vanilla ice cream, Reese's Peanut Butter cups and a chocolate fudge swirl! A portion of every sale will go back to WCSF to help continue making a difference in the community. 💙🤍 💛 💜

🎉 Congratulations to our Class of 2026 Scholarship Recipients! 🎉

We are beyond excited to announce the recipients of our 2026 scholarship program! Each of these outstanding students received a $2,500 scholarship to support their post-secondary goals.

Different from a traditional selection process, we don't review GPAs or resumes. Instead, we aim to reward students who are actively making a positive impact in their school and community. We're looking for students who show up and inspire change through their actions.

This year's recipients were described as leaders, passionate, civic-minded, and empathetic toward their classmates. These students exemplify the very best of what can be earned through a Waukee Community School District education. We're honored to support their next steps!

Coming soon to an elementary school near you! We are proud to partner with the Waukee Community School District to make fun and innovative ideas like a book vending machine a reality.

Already installed in Shuler and Waukee Elementary schools, the Waukee Community Schools Foundation has committed to funding book vending machines in all 11 WCSD elementary schools by spring of 2027.

The 2026 Impact Gala, presented by Shottenkirk Waukee Chevrolet, was an incredible celebration of 30 Years of Impact - and it was made possible by you.

From the energy in the room to the generosity shown throughout the evening, our community showed up in a big way for students and educators across Waukee. Seeing so many supporters gathered together, committed to strengthening classrooms and expanding opportunity, was truly inspiring.
