September is pediatric cancer awareness month and today is the day that we normally hold our event. As you might have guessed by now, we will not be holding one this year and we want to explain the reasons why, both good and bad.

First the good - Ethan remains very healthy and had a blast this summer playing tournament baseball! We had to catch ourselves a couple of times watching him thrive and thinking back to just four years ago and wondering what the future would look like. Things were super busy with both kids playing ball this summer but they love it and we wouldn’t change a thing!

Next, the bad - part of the way through the summer, we needed to direct our attention towards both caring for and spending time with Amber’s mom who was battling melanoma. She ended up passing away late August at just 66 years old. We are heartbroken and she will be greatly missed!

Long story short, we just needed to focus on our family this summer BUT have every intention of doing something again in the future!

Announcing our 2024 fundraising result! A big THANK YOU to all that contributed or helped spread the word about our cause! Because of you we will be able to donate $29,000 to benefit those impacted by Childhood Cancer!!!

This brings our total donated in just 4 years to more than $114,000! We are BEYOND grateful for how you've continued to embrace our organization!!

Our funds are split 50/50 between Childhood Cancer research and local organizations that support those impacted by the disease. Recipients are as follows:

Research: Unravel Iowa and The Children's Oncology Group Foundation
Local Organizations: Children's Cancer Connection, -A-Wish Iowa and the Child Life team at Blank Children's Hospital
