This event is a stark reminder of the dangers that birds face during migration. Every year, millions of birds are killed in collisions with buildings, windows, and other man-made structures. We can all help to reduce this number by taking steps to make our homes and communities more bird-friendly.

Here are some things you can do to help birds:

Turn off lights at night, especially during migration season.
Apply decals or other markings to your windows to make them more visible to birds.
Plant trees and shrubs to provide food and shelter for birds.
Support organizations that are working to protect birds and their habitat.
Together, we can make a difference for birds.
