Some adventures only happen when all the equipment is in good shape!

Thank you Alan Jay Ford of Wauchula for always taking care of our vehicles. Today I got an oil change done but the service also allowed me to get other eyes on tire conditions and axle seals.

A quick visual lesson on how simple camouflage works for alligators. 🐊 “Micro” is about 2ft and in the Peace Rivers “sweet tea” colored water he looks good in the sunlight and above the limestone, but the moment he slips lower along the rocks, he’s “gone”.

Perfect for an ambush predator but also good to hide away and stay out of trouble.

Yes I’m that guy… I’ve got 1hr left to go before I get home after a 12.5hr travel ✈️ day from one end of the country to the other - and I packed my favorite RaceTrac travel mug ☕️ just for that last hour drive home 🚗🏡

It’s our second year in Michigans Upper Peninsula for family vacation and we’re already wishing we had discovered Northland Outfitters Campground & Canoe / Kayak Livery sooner!

This awesome campground ⛺️ features several cabins and a few RV sites. It’s got a special resident too - Benny the Beardfisher troll! That’s actually how we discovered the canoe and kayak livery!

We went back and rented 4 sit on top kayaks for a 10 mile trip which lasts 2.5 - 3hrs. The team drop you off upstream and you paddle back making the adventure easy to see why it’s one of the most popular sections of river. There’s also a 1 hr and several@longer trips including overnight camping too!

If only we had more time, we would have planned another trip on a different section too!

This is a definite “must visit” location where you can buy lots of swag and even yooper lite stones too!

Stumbled across this amazing little campground on the river when looking for Benny the Beardfisher troll… and suddenly we were taking a 10 mile paddle Dow the Manastique River in Michigans Upper Peninsula.

We really enjoyed the conversation and service of Northland Outfitters Campground & Canoe / Kayak Livery and only wish we had found them sooner!

Took a 10 mile kayak trip down the Manistique River in the Michigan Upper Peninsula today. And whilst I was carrying drinking water, today was an excellent opportunity to show the Sierra Madre Pure Water Straw in action! (Yes I spit the water out - to prove I was sucking g it through the straw. It actually tastes like regular bottled water through the filter).

This simple straw packs easily in your gear bag and is an excellent back up should you need it most.
