Pajaro Valley Loaves and Fishes, Inc. Since 1989, we have served the community of Pajaro Valley providing nutritious lunches and groceries.

Pajaro Valley Loaves and Fishes collaborates with the Second Harvest Food Bank, local businesses, and farms to ensure that emergency and daily food needs of all persons in the community are met. We bring thousands of pounds of food directly to our neighbors in need. We provide well-balanced groceries and nutritious meals five days a week through our food pantry and hot lunch programs. We are the o

nly local food pantry open five days a week, ready to serve any needy person in Santa Cruz County. We stay informed of the impacts of nutrition, poverty, and unemployment in our community and engage in advocacy to end poverty and promote community food security, nutrition, and health.

This past Saturday (Feb 7th) my bestfried from Americorp and I tabled at Watsonville Wetlands Day. We set up our zero waste water station for our community to refresh after their hard work keeping our town beautiful. It was the most fun time interacting with our neighbors while they spinned our prize wheel. Although, our prizes were not all that exciting we enjoyed giving out the oranges our clients love while at the same time spreading our message of love and solidarity. In everything we do we strive to maintain an air of compassion and respect to everyone we encounter. We at Pajaro Valley Loaves and Fishes hope to make many more connections with all of you.

Over the past few days, many of you have reached out with the same heartfelt question: “How can I help?”

When support systems fall short, the community becomes the safety net. Your generosity, large or small, means a full plate and dignity at the dinner table.

These shelf-stable items help us extend our food resources:

Pasta
Canned diced tomatoes

Dry beans
Canned soups
Canned chili

Our kitchen team prepared a great hotdog meal, with chili, vegetables, salad, and watermelon. We had a smaller lunch crowd than usual, but it’s a good reminder that Loaves & Fishes is always open every weekday, even on holidays. 🍉🥰🌭

From laundry to dishes to serving as a board service or bagging produce, there’s no small job for our volunteers. We were able to honor our volunteer’s time with games, tacos, raffle prizes, and speeches.
