Watseka Masonic Lodge #446

Watseka Masonic Lodge #446 We are a fraternity devoted to the promotion of charity, morals, and a development of a better world for everyone.

With over 3 million members, Freemasons belong to the largest and oldest fraternal organization in the world. Freemasonry proposes to "make good men better" by teaching - with metaphors from geometry and architecture - about building values based on great universal truths.

Mason Monday!

Meet Joe Ruiz, member of Watseka Lodge #446.

Joe, why are you an active Mason?
For me, being an active Mason is about the brotherhood and the constant pursuit of self-improvement. It’s a rare space where men from all walks of life come together to support one another and work toward becoming the best versions of ourselves for our families and our community.

Brothers, time is running out to add your name!

The Grand Lodge of Illinois and the Grand Chapter are sending a larger-than-life thank you card to Hy-Vee for their continued support of our active-duty service members and veterans.

Most Worshipful Grand Master Joseph B. Ferrell and our elected Grand Lodge officers are inviting every Illinois Mason to "sign" the card virtually. Your name will be added in cursive when the card is printed in the first week of May.

To be included, email [email protected] with the subject line "I'd Like to Sign the Card!" along with your first and last name.

Deadline: Friday, May 1

If you've already submitted your name, thank you — please don't send a duplicate.

Mason Monday!

Meet Nathan Bernard, member of Watseka Lodge #446.

Nathan, why did you want to join Freemasonry?
I was interested in joining Freemasonry at first simply to continue a legacy, be part of a family tradition, and spend time with my dad.

But I was also curious about so many great men in history having been Freemasons. The list of notable members goes on and on at length—key historical and political figures, founding fathers, presidents, international leaders, titans of business, innovation, exploration, arts, sciences, et al.

How is it Freemasonry is so special that these impressive men of various diverse backgrounds accomplished so much? What happens behind Masonic closed doors and with fellow brethren to “make these good men better”? Why do Freemasons seem to have such a high purpose and great list of achievements?

I keep asking questions. I keep searching for answers. And that is why I remain an active member in Freemasonry. At each lodge meeting, I see, hear, and learn something new every time.

In Freemasonry, I selfishly get to explore life's deeper meanings and feel more fulfilled and purposeful afterwards in a way that cannot be expressed adequately in words. “I walk in the footsteps of those who came before.” I doubt it’s a coincidence; it just so happens, along the way, I’ve made friends, helped in charitable services, and connected to the community.

On Tuesday, April 7th the Watseka Masonic Lodge presented a $325 check to Nicole Bales special education director of Iroquois Special Education Association.

This money was for much needed supplies for an Iroquois County special needs student. We appreciate the partnership with ISEA and for them allowing us to donate and sponsor an anynoumous student in the county each year.

The picture was taken at Milford High School where one of our members Mr. Torres teaches two foreign languages French & Spanish. 🎉📚🎓
